Sofia sat on her bed, tears streaming down her face as her father yelled at her.

"THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH SKY HILLS AND YOU NEED TO STOP PRETENDING AND START ACCEPTING THAT!" Came the angry shout.

Sofia had tried. Multiple times. But all she could think is somethings not normal here. Shouting was a common occurrence at her house, but it still stung every time her father called her useless for her so-called 'imagination.'

"CAN YOU JUST STOP?" Sofia sobbed, running out of her room. Her father yelled after her as she ran into the garage, grabbing her skateboard and going to the park.

Sitting on one of the many benches, Sofia pulled out her sketchbook, studying the sketch of town she had drawn. She traced her finger across the town. Why are there so many alleys.... Sofia shook her head and skateboarded to her safe haven. A dead-end alley that wasn't scary, but comforting. Leaning on the wall, she put her earbuds in and listened to Home, one of her favorite songs. As she listened, she couldn't help but whisper, "I wish my home felt this way. A safe space. But it's not. It never has, and it never will."

Growling interrupted her thoughts and she turned to see a wolf growling at her. It was an unusual wolf, mostly black, but faded into red at the paws and tip of the tail. Sofia pressed her back against the wall. Her only chance was to climb the wall and run.

She started climbing the wall, movements coming naturally as she does this quite often to get away from everything. Her fingers gripped the small grooves in the wall. She swung her legs over the wall when she felt a sharp pain in her wrist. She dropped to the ground on the other side and examined her wrist, which was bleeding. A lot.

The wolf must've lept at her and bit her wrist. Sofia let out a hiss of pain as she climbed into the branches of the first tree she saw. Sky Hills was on the border of the woods, which did have wolves, so spotting one was not uncommon. But never once was there a wolf like that. After applying lots of pressure to the wound, Sofia went home. She skipped dinner, telling her mother she didn't feel good. She bandaged her wrist and put on her pajamas, crawling into bed. Her mind was stuck on the way the wolf had looked. There was no such thing as a wolf like that one.

After a while, her mom came in. Sofia hid her wrist as her mom kissed her on her forehead. "I'm sorry your father shouted at you again. He loves you, you know." She told her gently.

"Really feeling the love." Sofia replied in a broken voice. She gave her a hug and told her to get some rest.

Sofia had nightmares that night. The wall was to high to climb. It gave her privacy. She heard the growling again and turned to five wolves growling at her. Her wrist stung. She couldn't climb this wall.

          She was trapped.
