Legends say...
Every prophecy begins with blood.
Fifteen years ago...
On a night when the Crimson Moon bathed the world in red, the grand halls of House Valeris stood silent.
The wind carried the scent of rain.
But beneath it...
Death was already drawing near.
"My Lord."
A young vampire knight knelt before the towering throne.
His breathing was ragged, his silver armor stained with blood.
"They're here."
The man seated upon the throne slowly opened his crimson eyes.
Cassian Valeris.
Head of House Valeris.
Father.
Warrior.
Protector.
"How many?"
The knight lowered his head.
"...Thousands."
Silence.
Not fear.
Acceptance.
Cassian rose from his throne and walked toward the towering stained-glass window overlooking the kingdom.
Beyond its walls...
Torches stretched across the mountains like an endless sea of fire.
The Order of Solaris had arrived.
"So..."
"They finally made their move."
Behind him, the massive doors opened.
A woman entered the chamber, carrying a sleeping child wrapped in a crimson blanket.
Her long black hair flowed behind her as she approached.
Her name was Seraphina Valeris.
Queen of House Valeris.
And the last woman the Order feared.
"They're coming sooner than we expected," she whispered.
Cassian looked at the child in her arms.
A little girl.
Barely six years old.
Peacefully asleep...
Unaware that the world had already decided her fate.
"Our daughter deserves a life beyond this war," Seraphina said.
Cassian gently brushed a strand of hair away from the child's face.
"I know."
For a brief moment...
Neither of them spoke.
They were not rulers.
Not warriors.
Only parents.
Trying to memorize the face of the child they might never see again.
A loud explosion shook the castle.
Dust rained from the ceiling.
The knight outside rushed back into the room.
"My Lord!"
"They've breached the outer walls!"
Another explosion.
Closer this time.
Cassian turned toward his wife.
"It is time."
Seraphina nodded.
Though tears filled her eyes...
She never let them fall.
From beneath her cloak, she removed a silver pendant engraved with the ancient crest of House Valeris.
She fastened it around her daughter's neck.
"This belongs to you now."
The little girl stirred but did not wake.
Cassian placed his hand over the pendant.
A crimson glow pulsed through the room.
"May our blood protect you."
"May our name guide you."
"And may your heart..."
"...remain your own."
He kissed his daughter's forehead.
For the first...
And the last time.
Outside...
The castle gates finally fell.
The battle had begun.
Before leaving the chamber, Seraphina looked back one last time.
"If fate is kind..."
"...she will never learn our name."
Cassian looked toward the crimson moon hanging above the kingdom.
"No."
His voice was calm.
"If fate is kind..."
"...the world will remember it."
Far beyond the castle...
Hidden among the trees...
A cloaked figure watched the burning kingdom from the shadows.
His face remained concealed beneath a black hood.
Only one thing could be seen.
A golden emblem stitched onto his cloak.
A radiant sun.
He smiled.
"The last heir has been born."
"Find the child."
"No matter the cost."
As flames swallowed House Valeris...
The hunt for its last bloodline...
Began.
