As Years Pass (An Edd x Marie story)

History

It's a cold day in November as Edd stands outside staring at his smart phone waiting for Eddy to arrive. It has been 8 years since the Eds graduated high school and entered the real world. Eddy opted for trade school and got a job doing auto body. Ed did not further his education, with his strength he was quickly hired by a construction company that needed someone capable of keeping up with the heavy lifting. Double D of course went to university and after 4 years obtained his degree in chemistry, and now works at Gryco Labs. Things ended up about the way everyone would expect. As is the nature of the Cul DeSac, once the children were old enough to take care of themselves all of the parrents moved to Florida and everyone pretty well inhereted thier childhood homes. Eddy and Lee Kanker started dating in highschool and after impregnating her Eddy decided to, "make an honest woman out of her." and the two were married right after graduation. Ed and May are together but not married and without children. Edd however never got a chance to tell Marie how he really felt about her. She dropped out of high school in the 10th grade and ran off to join a band. Out of lonliness Edd ended up marrying Sarah, Ed's little sister. He now supports her and Jimmy who is a useless lay about. Of all the Eds despite doing the best, Double D is the least happy.

Edd, shakes his head at the revelation of how much has changed. He looks up to see the headlights of Eddy's car approaching. As the car stops in front of him Edd opens the door, "Good evening Eddy." Edd said cheerfully. "Hey sock head, you been waitin long? I got off late because some ass hole came in last minute." Eddy was visibly irritated. "Oh no not at all, thank you for the ride by the way."

"No problem Double D. How come you never drive anymore though? You used to all the time."

The truth was Sarah didn't allow him to drive. But being to embarrased to admit it Edd said, "Well you know it's good for the enviroment to car pool. Plus driving is very stressful Eddy."

"Yea, yea sock head saves the World. That's just like you Edd.... Woah! What the hell happened to your face?"

Eddy noticed a small but dark bruise under Edd's left eye. Edd quickly covered it saying, "Oh well you know clumsy me, I tripped and hit it on the side of the bed. Haha."

Eddy grumbled and said quietly, "Bull shit Double D. The whole neighborhood can hear that bitch screaming at you."

Edd looked out the passenger window of the car and felt depressed, the rest of the ride home would be in silence. The car passed by the bus station where a greyhound had just arrived. As the tail lights of Eddy's car faded into the distance a tall thin woman with blue hair was just stepping off. She wore knee high black combat boots, green pants, and a black tank top but was covered by a heavy black leather jacket. She set her guitar case down on the ground and lit a cigarette. As she breathed the smoke into the cool evening air. She smirked and said "momma' s home."
