"Remind me again why were here?" I asked sighing as I reluctantly pulled open the taxi door, the streets of LA never looked inviting but today they practically glared at me. Staring through my skin, through my metaphorical armour.
"Research," Natasha mumbles, clearly as tired as I am "we're here to talk to a family who saw a strange occurrence during the snap."
Fair enough.
We entered the un-inviting building and immediately get swarmed by press.
"Mr Stark is it true tha-"
"Me Stark did you reall-"
Bastards. They lied. That's clear.
"Is there any chance we could get them ba-"
They promised it would be just us. Just us and the family.
"Mrs Romanoff how did yo-"
Suddenly it's clear to me. This wasn't about a strange occurrence. This was a trap. People wanting information we simply didn't know. I should've known. This kind of stuff has happened before. I don't know why I keep hoping. It's pointless.
"That's enough," I shout sternly
"No it's not." An angry reporter cries out. Shit. "We don't know what the hells happening and you won't tell us anything we don't know. At least try give us an approximation."
"Tony doesn't owe you anything!" Natasha yells angrily over the crowd
"Now if you could tell us what the hell is going on here w-"
"YOU OWE IS ANSWERS" another reporter yells.
Then it starts again.
The yelling.
The demanding.
This is not what I had planned.
It's so much.
I wasn't prepared for this but I never am.
It's too intense.
I can't.
Not now.
I feel the world slipping out of view, out of reach. It's suffocating. Natasha's saying something to me but I don't hear her. I'm falling away when suddenly I'm pulled back. Both mentally and physically. My ass hits a hard surface. It hurts but I can't hear the reporters anymore so I'm not exactly complaining. I look up. That's when I see him.

His eyes, they're so captivating.
"Hey sisters!" He says excitedly. His voice. It's so loud and obnoxious yet, sweet and calming all at the same time. I'm starting at him. I know this but I don't care. A stunning bronze haze surrounds his eyes, perfect wings and highlight accompanying this haze. Making him appear so beautifully feminine yet still somehow strong and masculine. I should stop but to put it simply I don't want to.
"Hey," he says again softer than his initial greeting
"Hey," I reply embarrassed by how out of breath I sound, after another blissful ten seconds of staring I manage to mutter
"I like umm," fuck. What's the word again? "Eye... dust?"
He laughs. It's warm and welcoming.
"Eyeshadow?" He says still smiling
"Uh yeah, that" I stutter. Eyeshadow. Better remember that.
"Thanks" he says offering me his hand. I take it and pull myself up of the hard wood floor. His touch feels like silk.
"It's from my new pallet," he continues with a cheeky grin
I smile, bewildered. He winks at me and promptly continues.
"use code James for ten percent off"
