Everyone is born with it. The clock I mean, the clock that determines the very moment you meet your soulmate. It starts ticking from the moment you were born, and ends when you finally meet that special someone. Carter hated that clock, why should it decide who he would be with? Why couldn't he decide for himself? What if he got paired with a girl? What if the clock was wrong? But the clock was never wrong, at least not for everyone who has found their soulmate so far. Carter's mom and dad for example, their clocks didn't lie so why should his? Carter didn't know but he always had the suspicion that the clock would be wrong. He didn't know if the clock would pair a guy with another guy because he's only seen male and female soul mates together. What if that was him? forced to spend the rest of his life with some girl who he won't even love? Harder couldn't think of it anymore he had to get up and do something instead of being trapped in his own thoughts for once. So he decided to take a walk out to times square. Carter would always go here to clear his head and think of new scenarios for the stories he would write, you would always find something strange in times square, strange enough to be in one of Carter stories even. Carter giggled at the thought of his own made up stories. He would rewrite his universe making it a different way to meet your soulmate a way you could decide who it would be. Not some dumb clock.
