The Truth of Elvira

Chapter 1 (The beginning)

Hello my name is Elvira Grim. I'm thirteen years old and in the eighth grade. I'm was a normal thirteen year old girl until this guy named Carmen Blackwood showed up. Let me start from the beginning...

It was an early morning in late September. I live with my mother and stepfather Jerry. So it was a school morning and while I was getting dressed for school, when I heard this weird noise. It sounded like a dog or wolf. I went to investigate where the sound was coming, so I started walking in the direction the sound was coming from, it was coming from my window, but then I heard my mother calling for me from the kitchen. I went to the kitchen to see what she wanted from me. When I was in the kitchen there was food on the table. The food on the table kinda surprised me. My mother never made me breakfast, because she went to work and didn't have any time to cook food in the morning for me.

"Elvira come and eat your food." My mother said.

"Okay", I said a little concerned. I sat down at the table next to my mom while she sat near Jerry. Jerry and I don't get along that well so that's why my mom tries to keep us seperated. My mom starts talking about something, but while she was talking I noticed something off about Jerry. He seemed a little off. I don't like Jerry and all but this was different, he had a very sinister smile on his face.

"Elvira are you going to eat your food?" My mother asked.

"No I'm not really hungry mom, I'm sorry." I said. I didn't want to hang around anymore so I grabbed my bag and started to head out the door.

Until my Mom yelled,"Ellie after school there will be someone who is coming over to fix some electrical problems, but I won't be here so can you let them in when you come home."

"Yeah mom I will do that bye" I yelled as I ran out the door.

"I didn't know we had electrical problems. We did have a couple of power outages a few weeks ago but I think that is normal. Oh well" I thought as I was walking down the stairs from my little apartment. I got to the bottom of the stairs and heard the same weird sound from earlier. I started walking around until I was stopped by the apartment complex manager. I read his name tag to know who he was because we had a new apartment manager every other month.

"Hey, what are you doing here!" The manager yelled at me. I look around and notice that I am in a restricted of the apartment area. After looking around I look at the manager's face and I see that he seems furious. So I made a run for it. The apartment manager starts chasing after me. I head in the direction of my school.
