When life threw Carter, Arlock, and Vivian together, Carter never saw himself getting close to either of the reincarnated gods. But with a helpful hand, and the promise of free boba, perhaps it wouldn't be too bad to let the two into his life.

Arlock would say that he was having a pretty good day. He had girls smiling at his direction, he and Vivian made plans to hang out later in the week, and so far no terrible news about the god stuff was weighing on the back of his mind. All in all, Arlock couldn't have asked for a more lively day. Then he felt a soft tug on the back of his jacket.
Arlock let out a yelp. Yes, a yelp not a squeak, he wouldn't just squeak! He quickly jerked his head around to see who was causing him such a scare in the middle of his seemingly perfect day.
There stood Carter with a sheet of paper in his hand.
"Sorry about that," Carter said, looking quite sheepish as he handed over the sheet of paper, "this was stuck to your back."
Arlock took the sheet of paper and upon reading it, he could feel the heat begin to rise up to his cheeks. Scribbled on the piece of paper was the word 'Gay' with a doodle of a dick on to the side. He buried his face into his hands, praying that the ground would just swallow him up whole. Of course, of course, something like this had to happen. So much for having a pretty good day.
He raised his head back up, certain that the color of his face was matching the color of his jacket. "I mean they were entirely wrong," he grumbled.
Carter raised a brow at that. "Bi?"
Arlock shook his head. "Pan, don't worry though, you're not really my type."
"I wasn't worrying?"
"Oh yeah, sorry about that, a force of habit. Apparently, some people need to be reminded that I am not attracted to every person that I pass." He turned his nose up in disgust. "I have standards." Shooting Carter a weak smile, he continued. "Thanks for this by the way."
"It's no problem," Carter began to rub the back of his neck. "I'm pretty sure not that many people saw. I mean I didn't notice until now." With the unsure tone that he was using, Arlock wasn't too comforted.
"Honestly, I do owe you one though," Arlock crumbled up the sheet of paper.
Carter blinked, looking absolutely baffled by the suggestion. Immediately shaking his head he said, "No you don't."
Arlock rolled his eyes. "Oh please, you just saved me from a lifetime of embarrassment, or at least for the school year."
Before Carter could even protest, Arlock's eyes brightened animatedly. "Oh, I know! Viv and I are planning on going to that new boba place that just opened up. You know, the one near the park. You should come too, my treat."
