I got up and kicked the table "I'll work tonight but I'm not working again ti I have sorted out what's going on" I turned around and walked out the house slamming his door behind me

..........

I had been watching Mengrui for 4 days now, silently during his lunch breaks or outside of his work, yeah I am kind of being creepy

"you can't just spy on him like this"

my head shoots to a familiar voice as I sat across the street from the cafe, I narrow my eyes and Kuanwo "I'm not spying"

"of cause not" he scoffs out with a smirk "you haven't even shown up at mine for the past 4 days in 3 days you will meet and talk properly but I don't think you can wait till then"

Next thing I know I'm being dragged off my bike towards the cafe "Kuanwo!" I growled out as he pulled me along

"Oh shut up, we are just getting a coffee, jeez you are acting like a shy teenager, grow up" he huffed out at me, he pushed the door of the café open and dragged me inside to a small 2 seat table

my heart was pounding in my chest as I lay my head against the table "Kuanwo, can we leave"

"if you even so much as attempt to leave I'll tell him everything you have been up to" he whispered back to me

I sit up quickly and give a dark glare toward Kuanwo "I hate you" I growled out quietly

however my gaze wandered over to Mengrui as he served a customer, another waiter came to us "2 coffees please, black" I heard Kuanwo say

I wasn't paying attention to him until he clicked his fingers in front of my face "at this rate I won't have to tell him anything" he had a smirk on his face as I glared at him more

"shut up" I mumbled

Kuanwo put his elbow on the table and rested his chin in the palm of his hands "being married to this kid might not be a bad thing for you, ya know"

I kicked him under the table and he let out a louder groan than needed causing a few heads to turn, I groaned and lay my head against the table again hoping to avoid the fact Mengrui also turned to see what was happening "I'm ok, I just slipped" Kuanwo spoke out to the turned faces

I sit back up as I see feet at the table knowing our coffees have just been brought over, my eyes widen as they meet Mengrui's, he stares back at me, placing the coffee in front of me, we stare at each other till he breaks the eye contact after being called from the kitchen, he turns back and offers a small smile before walking away

Kuanwo was sat opposite with a smirk plastered on his lips "do you just become completely speechless when facing him"

'shit' I bury my face in my hands embarrassed "told you I didn't want to come in" I mumbled out glaring now at the cup of coffee in front of me before picking it up and taking a sip

Kuanwo was smirking and watching me amusement filled his eyes, he got up and excused himself as I watched him walk towards the way Mengrui went, I bit my lip unsure what he was doing, I didn't follow, I didn't know what I'd do if I ran into the kid, training my gaze back to my cup, I had almost finished before Kuanwo made his way back into the seat opposite me

"what did you do?" I gave him a dark questioning look and he just shook his head and smiled

"I'm going to work" he got up and pushed his mug towards me before walking out not giving me a chance to stop him, I frown also noticing the bastard left me with the bill, I let out a sigh laying my head back onto the table

I waved one of the waiters over shortly after and asked for the bill, she smiled at me and shook her head "no need, Mr Kong said not to worry about your payment" she gave a slight bow before walking away

I stared in confusion and drank down the coffee Kuanwo left before making a quick exit and heading home

this day pretty much scared me because for the next 2 days I stayed in my room till my father and mother practically dragged me out of my room on the 3rd day

"We are going to meet your future wife today" my mother happily chirped out

I gave my father a glare which he knew I meant 'are you crazy for not telling her the whole truth'

he let out a sigh and went shopping with his mother to get an outfit for tonight

Mengrui's POV

I was on my bed reading a book when my father walked into the room with a worried look on his face "what do you want father" I growled out sitting up

"please Mengrui your mother won't agree to come tonight I need your help" he was practically begging

I let out a sigh and got up, heading downstairs walking to the kitchen where my mother was baking some sort of cake, I wrapped my arms around her waist and gave her a gentle hug "mother" I whispered gently to her as I rested my head on her shoulder

"yes dear," she said in her soothing and soft voice

"would you please join me and father for a meal tonight, there is someone I would like you to meet, they might become very important to me, and it would mean a lot if you came along as well, I would love for them to meet you"

mother shifted a little on her feet, she let out a soft hum before nodding "ok dear, I'll join you" she had a pleased look in her eyes and I smiled kindly to her and gave her a quick comforting squeeze before letting her go and walking out the room

I shot a glare at my father as I walked past him practically telling him to follow me which he did, the moment we set foot on the threshold of my room I turn to face my father "you should have told her, if not who you married to, never mind the fact it's a guy, but also the fact that you have caused some issue with her business, you are only in charge because she is not well, it is still her business and you won't even tell me the issue, you are lucky I love mother and will do anything for the things she loves" I snap out at him

he flinched a few times at my words and hung his head "I'm sorry, it starts in a few hours, we should get ready" he says before turning and leaving, I swing the door shut behind him letting out a large sigh and getting changed ready to leave.
