Thunder rolls in the background, far enough away for the lightning to be hidden, but acknowledges that that, is to be our future. Others don't like this anticipation, this calm before the upcoming storm. They say, 'I just want it to end,' and 'I would rather it be sunny so we can play.' Yet I sit there watching and waiting for the rain to come with a patients that I normally don't have. I would rather the rain just hold for a minute and let the thunder have a turn to be, listened to and appreciated. Yet it will come, but first the lightning will come, racing across the sky in a burst of activity that only the quick can follow. It clashing across the sky, scaring the earth with the imaginable damage that is contains. The thought of a strike of lightning enough to make the living go and hide. Yet only the thought runs in the wild, the truth has yet to come and the worry is left to the ones that can not appreciate. But wait. Take a breath. Listen to the thunder that can be felt in the vibration in the ground. Feel the light breeze that cools the upcoming humidity. Look at the dark clouds gaining the ground of the sky, wondering where the lightning will strike from. A lightning that comes with irreversible damage. This always comes after a soothing calm. So I guess my question is where is the anticipating fear when you aren't afraid of the damage?
