The Moonlight ball. A celebratory event for the Werewolves and Vampires to rejoice their creation in thanks to the moon goddess. Now unlike other stories you have read, Werewolves and Vampires, are not mortal enemies. We have a peaceful agreement between our races, which has lasted for over 4 hundred years. There's no spitting out the word Vampire like it's venom dripping from your lips. It's just, "Vampire" acceptance of the differences and moving forward together looking to brighter days.
Now, the ball. This Event happens every year, but to make it even more special, it's on the same days as the Lunar Eclipse. Another thing to celebrate. And yet, even though it's one of the most important nights of the year, I'm dreading the ball in all it's glory.
Why? Well, simple answer. It's my 20th birthday, and my parents are pushing me to find my mate, and if I don't soon, they want me to marry. Me? Well, I'm happy being alone at the moment. I have everything I ever need right here. My friends, my family, a roof over my head, my pack and my freedom. Having shifted when I turned 18, it's been nearly 2 years and I haven't found my mate, but I'm okay with that. They'll find me when the time is right, Hopefully they show up in the next year or 2 because I won't settle for anyone but my mate.

Rieka's POV
I was running, my wolf felt free as the wind ruffled her fur. Paws hitting the dirt of the ground and the smell of the forest making her feel comfortable, at home. 'Asena, we have to head back soon'
I heard her huff. 'Relax Rieka. We'll be back before the ball. I promised Pandora we'd be there'
I chuckled and shook my own head. 'Of course'
I could practically picture Asena growling at me playfully. I laughed a bit more before settling back into my mind and letting her run free with the reins in her capable paws.
After a while of running around and sitting down by a river, Asena handed back control to me and I headed back up to the house. I nudged the door till mum opened it and I headed upstairs to my room before shifting back.
I quietly headed to my bathroom and hopped straight into the shower, seeing as when you shift back you're completely naked.

I got myself ready for the Moonlight ball tonight. I slipped into my cobalt blue ball gown, that had light ruffled fabric over the main skirt, with a pleated upper bodice, while the main bodice had lace stitched over the cheffon like fabric, with the addition of a few pearls to create the centre of the flowered pattern in the lace. I matched my dress to a pair of deep blue heels, that were hidden under the long skirt of my gown.
I applied some light makeup. A light dusting of a pale coloured eyeshadow, with some mascara to bring my cognac eyes to focus, paired with red lipstick to tie it all together. My hair was naturally curly so I didn't need to do much, the only change was a waterfall braid that created a crown around my head that I wove some wild flowers into that I had already collected earlier in the day.
I headed down to the living room and saw a note on the table.
Rieka, meet us at the ball. Lots of love, Mum and Dad xoxo
I recognised, my mothers neat writing immediately and sighed, heading off out the door on my own towards the pavilion. Some birthday huh?
~~~
The air was crisp and cool outside. The sun had already begun it's decent into the sky, meaning the Vampires would arrive fairly soon. The light wind, ruffled my hair that was hanging down by my waist and I smiled as I breathed in the freshness of the breeze as I walked. The pavilion had come into view and I very nearly lost my breath, this year, it was breathtakingly beautiful.
