Chapter Two | Halloween

Start from the beginning

"It'd be okay?" Max narrowed her eyes at Dustin.

"Yeah. Our party's a democracy, the majority voted you guys can come." Dustin clearly didn't get the tone in Max's voice.

"I didn't realise it was such an honor to go trick or treating with you guys." Max snaps sarcastically.

"Yeah, I mean, we know where to get the full-sized candy bars." Dustin grinned. "We figured you'd want in."

"That's presumptuous of you," I crossed my arms.

"Yeah." Dustin pressed his lips together. "Totally. Uh, so... you guys will come?"  I closed my locker and turned around, rejecting their offer and Max had followed. "We're meeting at the Maple Street cul-de-sac at 7.00! That's 7.00 on the dot!"

After we were a wee away from them, I let out a chuckle

After we were a wee away from them, I let out a chuckle. "You're such a sarcastic bitch," I wrap an arm around her arm. "I love you."

"You're late." Billy grumbles to us as we approached his car, carrying our skateboards.

"Yeah, we had to catch up on homework," Max replies.

"Jesus, I don't care." Billy tells us. I glared at him but he wasn't facing our way. "You're late again, and you're skating home. Do you hear me?"

"Loud and clear," I mutter before we both jumped in the back of his car, putting our skateboards on the ground and he climbed into the driver's seat and we drove off.

We were 10 minutes down the road, Billy speeding full speed which got on my nerves. He knows we hate his fast driving.

"God, this place is a shithole." Billy tells us.

"It's not that bad," Max speaks.

"No?" Billy raised an eyebrow at us. He pulled down the window next to us with the buttons and smelled the... well, not so fresh air. "Hmm, you smell that Max and Aspen? That's actually shit. Cow shit."

"I don't see any cows," I retort before I could stop myself and he puts up the window.

"Clearly, you haven't met the high-school girls." Billy scoffs. "So what, you guys like it here now?"
