Prologue
She stared out the bleak, foggy window of her pink playroom. The small child stifled a sigh as she saw a group of girls, in neon colored raincoats, splashing in the small mud puddles, made by the current falling rain. Her mommy never let her go out and play with the other children, not ever. Mommy says "It's far to dangerous for a little girl to play out in the rain."
The sound of water splattering against the white window pane brought her back to the natural way of things. Mommy and Daddy only wanted the best for her. She turned her small head to look at her art set. The basic things that were needed for a six year old to paint with were there. Paper that was refillable, blue, yellow, and red paints, and three different sized paintbrushes.
Auntie Snow had given her the set for Christmas last year. Mommy and Daddy had given her everything she wanted, but in her eyes it just wasn't enough. Slowly she got up off her bubble window seat and moved over to her dollhouse. Another thing she wanted last year. Inside there was a Mommy doll, a Daddy doll, a Baby doll, and a doll that looked just like her. The girl took out some twine she had found, and picked up the doll that resembled her. Her small frail fingers tied the twine around the doll's neck, and again tied it. Only this time she tied it to one of the support beams in the 'Attic' room of the small wooden house.
She smiled and stood up, she quietly walked over to her art set. The frail child took the red paint and the larger of the brushes. Her feet were quiet on the worn wooden floor. As she glanced at the doll again she saw that the feet where suspended off the ground. Yet again she smiled and dipped the brush into the deep red paint. With the paint brush raised, she splattered the paint across the doll, and the room that contained the small toy. She giggled and did it again and again. Her mommy came into the room, and froze.
"Vivian what have you ?done?"
"I killed her mommy" the small girl said in reply to her horrified mother.
