Darkness, soft darkness. The feeling of a million tiny cotton puffs cradled me in the dark abyss drifting me deeper into my deep......Wait... I sat up quickly seeking air coughing the particles out of my lungs. After dusting off myself I opened my eyes to a sky that was a dark purple hue with bright paint splatters of stars that gave no hint of when day would rise. I jumped a bit my hands ripping from the ground when three others popped up.

The first was an ivory skinned male. He had his shaggy hair pulled into a man bun and was covered in the galaxy hued sand. He wore a ragged camouflage jacket over a white plain shirt. The knees of his dark grey leggings peeked out of the sand. His emerald eyes frantically darted around before landing on me. We stared equally bewildered before snapping to The next two who sprung up.

They were two almost identical twins. Their olive skin held their furrowed eyebrows as the two spat out as much sand they could. Light hazel eyes opened as they individually fixed there long dirty blonde hair out of there face. The female put her hair into a bun and looked around. Her outfit was themed in a blue hue, dark blue pants and a light baby blue crop top with her white sneakers peeking out of the sand. Her twin brushed his wavy hair of sand and let it fall naturally. His red turtleneck shirt and black pants was aided in its design with white sneakers as well.

We sat in silence before the taller one coughed. "Please tell me this is a dream." a gruff but soft-spoken voice came out of him his eyes shifting between us all. The twins looked around themselves before answering. "Unless this is a joint dream." she started. "I don't think so." he finished. I scanned my surroundings to find All of us were half embedded in this odd sand. The sea of sand was large and still, no wind disturbances the hills of soft particles that felt like cotton puffs. The small specks reflected the star's dazzling light shining like gems with its galaxy hues, making it confusing which was sky and what was land.

My light green eyes scanned the area leading me to look down to the sand in awe and confusion. I freed myself from the colorful prison and watched the grains fall and shifted hue as they fell to its thousands of matching twins. I began brushing my white leggings and pale-yellow shirt of sand. "We nearly died from suffocation, so I'll say no." I muttered as I looked to them again. The twins helped each other out as a mountain of a man got himself up.

The twins were around 5 feet making them smaller than my height of 5'6. The large man was probably 6'3 or taller. We stayed quiet before the red twin spoke up. "I'm just going to introduce myself, I'm Alex and this is my twin Lexi." he gestured to his twin. The big man sighed after a bit and looked to us before grunting. "Grover." I nodded and brushed my dark brown dreadlocks to rid them of tangles and sand. "Names Estrella." the blue twin nodded and looked around. "Any clue of how to get out of here." we all looked around confused. The galaxy sand was the only thing in sight. I sighed and started to me kicked my tan hiking boots threw the sand as I walked my way into the ever-expanding desert.

"What are you doing?" Grover asked.

"Walking." I yelled over my shoulder.

"To where?!?" Alex yelled

"Anywhere but here!"

After a brief pause I heard the trudging of three more people behind me. Grover grunted a bit as he walked up next to me, the twins on his tail. "I know we just meet but best we work together to survive wherever we are." he groaned clearly not liking being around us. The feeling was mutual

"I agree, but where is here?" Lexi asked.

"More importantly, how are we going to survive in a desert." Alex asked the group a bit irritated. I looked around seeing nothing new. I never liked the emptiness of a desert or of night. Way too quiet for sure, way to empty of life. All I could hear was the groups breathing, the twins occasional muttering, Grover resighting something to himself, and the moving of our feet across the sand. The dark sky only aided us light with its stars that reached across the horizon. There wasn't even a moon to help shed its hope filled moon light across the desert. The dark was staining the land with a sickening anxious and mysterious shade. I trudged through the sand growing more lost and tired. How long would it go? How long could I walk? How long till I find something anything to help me get back to my familiar surroundings? Lexi huffed and looked to us. "Come on! There has to be something!"

"A village!" Alex screamed

"Or a oasis" Grover muttered

"Or a way home." I huffed.

"No guys, a village!" Alex jump end pointed to a lively village. The village was a wondrous and lively village. A party seems to be flooding all the streets as distant cheers filled the area. food or drinks booths littered the street handed out. The sweetest of candy or the finest of delicacies. Littered threw the town was carnival games, pools, malls, movie theaters, thespian theaters, there even was a huge arena meant for ether big fights of all kinds, or the holding of many different animals.

Before we knew it, we all ran over as quick as we could, tried pants, and laughter following us as we ran to the haven who seem to be having a party. We all slowed to a stop and the edge of this festival. Grover was breathing heavy with his hands on his knees as the twins leaned against each other for support. I just stud and breathed heavy all of us recovering from running and laughing our way here.

Slowly we all steps over that imaginary line and entered the party of the night. We walked threw the village brushing by a lot of different people, all having a good time. I found a booth selling small sugar skulls and grabbed a bag. The booth tender didn't even ask me for money just gave me a bag. I happily went back to the group and showed it to them. With that we were let loose. We got distracted by a festival games and treats as we explored. We all watched eagerly as a male effortlessly threw four ping pong balls with one hand onto the top of four opened bottles. The booth keeper picked up the balls and bottles and handed the bottles to the man who walked away happy.

"My turn!" Lexi smiled waiting for the booth keeper to give her some of the balls. Once getting them she gave a funny look and tossed the balls at any of the bottles. There was a lot of different drinks all looking amazing. From Lexi just throwing the balls at random she one getting one bottle. She was still happy when getting the fizzy drink though the young girl next to her looked a lot more entranced by it. Without a second glance she handed the bottle to the kid, which made the small girl run away screaming thank yous. Grover slowly lead us all over to a booth with a bunch of books. We all happily looked threw them all curious. I couldn't help but glance to the strangers I met. The be twins where clearly inseparable, everything they did was with the other. Grover seemed more of a solo guy, his eyes comfortably glanced over the pages before the twins neared causing him to tense up. I chuckled causing the three to look at me. They all held a questioning glance before we all started to laugh as well. This was one odd dream if it was one. Though silently it could be told that all of us didn't really want to wake up. Lucky we didn't have to, and we weren't going to unfortunately.
