Chapter Three: Not Again

Start from the beginning

Thorne gave him a blank stare and turned away. He didn’t have the patience for this.

“Hey, hey... don’t be like that. you look as if you're angry with the world! Such beautiful looks should have spunkful personality to accompany it. You shouldn’t frown; it’s bad for your skin-”

“Please stop talking.” Thorne said, closing his eyes.

 “Ooooh, feisty! I like that.”

Thorne looked at him. Really looked. Took in his bright blonde locks and his chocolate brown eyes, his lean frame and pierced ear. “Like what you see?” Dean smirked.

 “Are you gay?”

...Somewhere in the background Heath could be heard having a coughing fit.

Dean chuckled.

 “Quite foreword, aren’t we?”

 “Just answer the question.”

He leaned back in his chair, now facing the front of the class (the class that was unattended since the educator had decided to assign herself a break. One couldn’t blame her. Honestly speaking, there was probably only one student taking note of her) and folded his arms across his chest.

“I’m bi...if you must know. Not that it’s any of your business what my orientation is.”

 “...so you’re gay?”

“B-I-S-E-X-U-A-L. I enjoy boobs as much as any other guy would.”

“Hn...” Thorne grunted and turned back to the window.

“I’m guessing you’re a homophobic straight guy?” Dean scoffed, still facing the front.

 “Asexual, actually.” He replied.

Dean turned around and lifted an eyebrow, silently asking Thorne to elaborate.

 “Nothing interests me.”

Dean laughed. “Nothing, yet.” He said suggestively.

 “What?” Thorne questioned.

“Oh, nothing.” Dean smiled

“Tell me...” Thorne said, looking over his shoulder as he headed towards the school cafeteria. “When-exactly- did I suddenly inherit two side kicks?”

“Puh-leez honey.” Dean scoffed. “I’m hardly a side kick.” He swung an arm around Heath’s shoulder. “You, on the other hand...”

“I’m not a side kick either!” Heath protested. “I’d like to think I’m the Batman to this trio.”

“Batman’s team isn’t a trio.” Dean said, crossing his arms over his chest. “There’s just him and Robin. No third wheel.”

“Maybe we should subtract someone from the equation then.” Thorne bit. “Or better yet, Batman’s worked alone before...he could do it again”

“But we all know Batman’s nothing without his Robin, Thorne...” Dean winked. He turned to Heath. “You can be that butler guy.”

“That’s so unfair! He doesn’t even have any powers!” Heath protested again.

“Batman doesn’t actually have powers either-”

“Not really superheroes here, people.” Thorne sighed.
