Underneath all that façade of friendship

You mock me, you undermine me,

Make me feel shame, anger and embarrassment.

I felt as though my existence had wronged you,

When it is were you who had wronged me.

You crucified me as though my existence

was everything but a mistake.

But now I will rise like a phoenix

And not let your petty, snide and snarky remarks get to me.

Now that I have found myself

I will not let myself fall,

That the things that made me be called a freak

are nothing but what makes be unique.
