I always new about my brother's best friend but I've never seen him until today. Let's rewind a little bit.
It's a Friday afternoon and I'm just hanging out on my couch and I knew that he was coming over but I wasn't expecting it now. A loud knock sounds. I stand up from the couch and walk toward the door. I open it expecting to be a solicitor or something like that. As I open the door a see the most beautiful person I've ever seen, brown eyes, brown hair flopped to one side, tan skin. I try to not show me starting to get nervous as butterflies fill my stomach 'no, Lexie do not think like that, you know what happened the last time,' I think to myself.
"You must be Lexie, I'm Jackson," he lifts out his hand for me to shake it. I slowly shake his hand as I can feel the blood rushing to my cheeks. This is when it hits me that this is Casey's best friend.
Jackson lets out a little chuckle as he lets go of my hand. I look behind me to find my brother standing there waiting for me to let Jackson in.
"Stop flirting with my friend,"
"Oh, um- I-I wasn't,"
Jackson laughs as he squeezes past me to get inside. He gives me a slight wink with his dark chocolate brown eyes. My heart starts beating at a rapid pace until Casey says,
"Come on bro so my sister can stop obsessing over you,"
"Shut up," I say while punching his shoulder. He chuckles and they head into Casey's room.
'Geez, I didn't know he was that hot,' I thought to myself.
I didn't see them all day until almost one a.m., I hear knock on my door. Luckily I was still up reading romance novels. I stand up from my comfy bed and open it. I am shocked by the sight of Jackson stand in front of me leaning on the door frame.
"Hey Lexie, can we talk?"
"Sure," I say while my heart begins to beat faster.
I open the door wider inviting him in. He walks in and just stands in the middle of my room with his hands in his pockets. I slowly close the door behind me as I make my way toward the middle of the room. He stands there with his hands still in his pockets with his eyes glued to mine.
"So what is this about?" I say to break the silence
" umm- you know what never mind."
He walks toward the door.
"Wait, what," I say while grabbing his wrist to pull him back in my room. He turns back and says,
"Look, I just can't," He says as he pulls away from my grip and walks out. He closes the door behind making it just me, alone in the room.
'I wonder what that was about,' I thought to myself as I flop back on my bed with my wrinkled up comforter. I slowly drift off to sleep.
The next morning I woke up to the sound of someone walking into my room. I open my eyes and sit up. I then notice Jackson standing in front of me with his shirt off. I swallow the lump in my throat and rub my eyes.
"Yo, can you turn that stupid thing off?" Jackson says standing with his hand on his hips. I then realize my alarm blasting in the background. I lean over and hit the top of my alarm causing it to turn off.
"Sorry," I say trying not to stare at his perfectly sculpted body.
"Nah, it's fine but, next time wake up to your alarm," he says while taking his hands off his hips to gesture to my alarm clock. He starts to back up and says,
"See you down stairs?" He says while stepping back and putting his hands in his pockets.
"Sure," he gives me a slight wink before turning around and heading out the door.
'why does he have to be so hot? No,no,no, Lexie do not, dont' I think while getting up from my bed. I walk over to my closet to figure out what to wear today. I stand there in front of my closet with my hands on my hips. I reach over to grab my phone to check the weather. Before I can swipe open my phone I see a text from a unknown number. I tap the notification and it opens the text message. It read,
"Hurry up we're waiting!- Jackson" my heart flutters a little before getting back to picking out what to wear. I pick out a pair of leggings and a hoodie. I quickly change and sit down to do my make up. My phone vibrates against my desk. I quickly flip over my phone and open the notification. I notice it's another text from Jackson,
"what's taking so long?" I roll my eyes and finish my hair and make up. When I'm done I head downstairs to see Jackson waiting by the stairs.
"Finally," Jackson says with his arms crossed. He kinda chuckles while looking me up and down. He unfolds his arms and put them to his sides.
"What's that?" He asks, gesturing to my outfit.
" I'd rather be comfortable then wear skin tight pants," I say while pointing to his jeans.
"At least it looks good." He laughs a bit and I roll my eyes. Casey comes around the corner.
"Ready?" I give him a confused look.
" oh yeah, we're going to get new lights for outside," Jackson says with a small smirk on the corner of his mouth.
"He's coming because...?" I ask Casey while gesturing toward Jackson.
"Don't ask me," He says throwing his hands in the air. Jackson shrugs and Casey starts to walk toward the garage.
"We'll meet you out there!" Jackson yells across the room. Casey nods and walks into the garage and gets into the car. Jackson turns his head from the door to me.
Giving me his full attention. He steps closer to me. My heart beat speeds up. He leans in so I can feel his breath on my ear and neck, causing shivers to run down my spine. He then whispers in my ear,
"You look great in that,"he pauses a little before pulling away leaving you in shock and trying not to let him see it. He pulls back and takes a step back. He smirks and winks. He walks out into the garage.
'Oh shit," i say under my breath. I then walk out into the garage meeting them in the car. I climb into the second row seats and notice Jackson staring out you through the rear view mirror. I catch his eyes and he looks away. I notice him blushing a bit but I shrug it off. When we get to the store Jackson gets out and opens my door. He lets me out.
"Thanks?" I say looking at him. He gives me a smile with his perfect white teeth and walks toward Casey. I close my door and walk over toward Casey and Jackson. My phone vibrates and I pull my phone out of my hoodie pocket to see a message from Jackson. "Sorry if earlier made you uncomfortable," I smile and send back "It didn't, trust me," he pulls his phone out and starts to type he then smiles. "K" is what read on my phone. I slide my phone into my hoodie pocket. I smile to myself while walking into the store. As we walk in I hear an unfamiliar voice.
"Yo!" The voice said causing us all to turn around. "You gotta nice ass," said a guy with dark black hair. Jackson clenches his fists and starts walking toward him. Casey crosses his arms and squints. I stand in shock.
"Whatcha' gonna' do, pretty boy," the man says now trying to size Jackson up.
"What the hell is your problem," Jackson says with a mad expression on his face.
"What? I can't tell a girl she has a nice ass?" Jackson walks closer with his face only a few inches from his and now towering him. Jackson lifts up his clenched fist. The guy raises both hands, exposing both of his problems. Making him seem vulnerable in a way.
         "Bro, what the hell?!"
"Don't talk to a girl like that, especially ones like her!"my heart starts racing. What does he mean by "especially ones like her'.
"You got it!?" Jackson says with his fist still in front of his face.
"Yes I'm sorry. Okay!" Jackson lowers his fist and the guy runs out the store. Jackson unclenches his fists and turns to me and Casey. Casey drops his hands. I'm still in shock.
"Lets go," Jackson says while walking past us. He still is obviously a little shaken up. Casey turns around and starts to follow him, I do the same. While walking into the store, I decide to shoot Jackson a text. I slide open my phone and type, 'what was that for?" I hear his phone ding in his pocket but, he ignores it for a second. After a few seconds he pulls his phone out of his back pocket and reads your text. He turns off his phone and slides it back into his back pocket. He turns and gives you a slight wink. I turn off my phone and put it back into my hoodie pocket. I can feel blood rushing to my cheeks. 'Damn," I thought to myself.
