I wake up suddenly to my mother calling my name for breakfast. "Jasmine get your ass down here now!" she screamed at me. "Here we go again" i mutter under my breath and make my way downstairs to the smell of bacon and pancakes. I hate bacon.
"Good morning weirdo," says my brother enthusiastically, "'bout time you woke up." "Shut up." I say as I ruffle his hair. My Father is taking care of feeding my baby sister, Ella. "Eat up Jackson" my mom says to my brother as i take my seat at the table.
After eating, i make my way back to my room so i can get ready for another boring day at school. I race down the stairs so i can make it to the bus on time. "Bye mom" i say kissing her cheek as i run out the door. I jump as i see my best friend standing right outside. "Jesus Abby what the hell?" I say infuriated. She giggles and tells me to hurry up before we are late.
We run to the bus stop as fast as possible and just jump on the bus as it starts to take off. We take our seats and start the long journey through New York traffic. Making it to school, we rush to class just making it before the bell. "That was too close" I mutter as i unpack my stuff for that class. History, my worst subject.
After 7 boring hours we finally get out of that hellhole. Eventually i make it home, exhausted. My brother is sitting at the coffee table watching cartoons and coloring. "You're lucky you don't have to go to school yet." I say sitting my stuff down and getting a snack before sitting on the couch. "I only have one more year before I'm five then I can go to school too!" he said happily.
"Enjoy the year while it lasts" I mutter and take my stuff to my room. I turn on my tv and crawl into bed. As i fumble with the remote trying to get it to work, the power goes out and im left all alone in the darkness.
