The medium sized dog stepped out onto the cold ground. Her ears flung back as two soldiers stepped by the private plane. Liberty ran up the steps and jumped into the Presidents arms. He laughed and patted her head. Putting her back down onto the ground. A moment later, a large Doberman stepped out. His black sleek coat shone as the dim sun hit it.
"Damien! Oh God! I'm so scared-- It's so huge and scary!" The Aussie yipped as she backtracked under his long legs. Damien looked down with a stern face, "I promise I won't let anything happen to you, Little sister. You don't worry."

Liberty looked up to him and nodded with a small frown. He stepped away allowing the smaller dog to walk off. As soon as Melania got out of the plane, they headed off into a car to their large cabin.
Liberty's luggage was set down in a small bedroom, though large for her. She looked around and admired the snow globes. She felt suddenly safer as the fake fireplace lit on.
Maybe Russia isn't so bad after all, She thought. Liberty jumped onto the queen sized bed and made herself comfortable. She shut her amber eyes and drifted off to sleep.

The door shut. The two must've been off to the meeting. Her ears perked up as she opened her eyes slowly. She blinked the sleep out and stretched slowly. Her toes spreading.
She jumped off the bed and gracefully landed on the wood floor. Padding to the large kitchen, the clicks of her nails on the floor was made throughout the cabin.
She noticed Damien wasn't there. Odd. She made her way to her bright pink bowls, one filled up with cool water and the other filled up with grain-free food.
She ate neatly without spilling any contents of her food.

She heard a scratch at the door. She picked her head up from the bowl and looked around. Another scratch. She gasped and ran onto the couch, and looked out the window. Her body in full panic.
"Oh no- What if a raccoon is trying to get in? Or worse a wild dog!" She howled and fell off the couch landing safely on a pillow that bumped off when she jumped on.
"No worries. I ain't no Raccoon or a wild dog." A orange cat with bright green eyes had made his way into the dining room by using a vent. He walked over to Liberty, "How ya doin'. I'm Gambino. You're friendly neighborhood thief." Gambino stood up on his hindlegs and put a paw to his chest.
"Your accent... Where are you from?" Liberty said, not the bit terrified. Gambino stood frozen on his legs, He thought that every animal he crossed would be scared of him. He cleared his throat then sat back down on his bottom, "New York, Baby. Moved here by accident but I made my way up to become feared around here." Liberty nodded with a smile, "Liberty. I'm Liberty."
Gambino jerked his head up, "THE Liberty? Gah! I shoulda seen the news- That's what I get for crossing paths with those stupid rugrats."

Liberty tapped on the ground with a tilt of her head, "Well, I didn't really wanna come here. I was sort of forced to. But It'd be cool if you showed me around."
Gambino's ear flicked, he nodded with a smirk, "All right. Will do." Liberty got up and smiled with a yip she quickly said, "Let me put on my booties!"
She ran out moments later with blue booties, "So my feet won't get callused." she walked over to the door.
"Can ya open that door?" the small cat mewed. Liberty cocked her head, "Of course. Every dog can do that." she got on her hinds, put her paws on the door knob and pushed down, the door opening.
A small puff of crisp air blew gently in their faces. Gambino jumped in front of her, "Alright, little lady. Here are my rules. Number One! Always listen to me. Number Two! Don't go running off to every dog who looks like someone ya know. Number Three! Always stay by me. Number Four! Try not to get hurt." the cat turned his back to her and started to march over into the snow. He put his paws up to his chest every step he went. Liberty had a bit of trouble doing the same but she got through. The cold bit her nose and made her sneeze.
"Come on, Lib. Ya wanna go or not? Pick up the pace!" The ginger cat was already way ahead.
Liberty huffed and jumped after him. Hoping her fur wouldn't get too matted with snow.

They then arrived at the city. It was completely beautiful. It reminded her of New York in a certain way. Just with more buildings that look high-tech. Gambino made his way by a park. It was large and seemed as big as 2 football fields. There were trees and snow. Benches were splayed around and the sidewalk had a thin layer of snow ontop. Just enough to put your hand in and sink it through. Liberty gazed at the sight of little children throwing snow balls around and their parents chattering about the new gossip.
Gambino looked to his newly found friend and smiled, "Like this part, huh?" he sat down and wrapped his tail around himself. Liberty nodded, "Yeah." her ears perked up as a little girl with whitish blonde hair looked to her. The girl wasn't afraid of her so she made her way to Liberty and Gambino. She took off her mitten and kneeled down to pet Liberty.

Liberty looked into the eyes of the little girl with a flutter in her chest as the little pale girl reached over and softly patted her head. The girls green eyes sparkled as Liberty licked her cold fingers. She put her muzzle on the little girls chest, sniffing out the scents of her winter coat. The girl laughed and took Liberty's face in her two frail hands and said something in Russian she couldn't understand, "хороший пес.." (Good dog). Her mother looked from her conversation to her child. She immediately came rushing over and swooped her child up from the reach of Liberty, "Ksh! Ksh! Ksh!" she swatted at Liberty with an open hand.

The dog backed up with her head down low, Gambino hissed at the mother and swatted back at her. That's when the two took off as the Father came by to see what was happening. Liberty still had her head down low and her ears pinned back to her head. The two stopped in an alley to take a breath.
"What was wrong with her?" Liberty asked as she laid down, feeling the cold underneath her. Gambino huffed and shook his head, "Well, sometimes I don't know. They must have bad encounters with dogs here. Mostly those bear dogs. They come home from hunting during the night and think they're the boss. Gah, how I hate those stupid mutts-"

"Stupid Mutts, Eh?" A large Caucasian shepherd emerged from the shadows of the alley. His eye on Liberty, "Watch what you're sayin' American cat." he said with a flick of his tail a handful of chihuahuas jumped out. Liberty gasped and jumped back.
"And who's this? A treat you have for me, Gambino? She looks mighty well."
Liberty stood up to the 2 foot dog, she snapped, "Leave us alone!". Her fur swayed in the chill wind. The shepherd was astonished by her beauty and her determination.
"Round this one up. Chase out the cat." The dog turned his back to her and padded back into the darkness. The chihuahuas ran around Liberty biting at her ankles and pushing at her. Liberty followed them not wanting to get hurt, she screamed out for her friend, "Gambino!".
Gambino was busy fighting off the little dogs, "It's okay, Liberty! I"ll be okay!"
