Chapter 1

Emily's P.O.V.

I wake and put on a fake smile like I always do, every morning Its the same. I'm reminded of the past and in less than a minute my best friend Matt comes barging in. "Hey Emily! First day of summer what do you want to do?!?" Matt asks. "I want to go back to sleep Matt. Shut the blinds and come cuddle." "As much as I would love to I really don't want to let's go do something!! PLEEAASSE!!" He said jumping on my trying to get me up. "Okay okay Matt get out so I can get dressed" I say trying to push him out the door but he's stronger. "Emily.. let me stay I promise I will not look." He smirked. "Fine, but turn around and wait till I'm done." "okay. oh and your mom said she left you money she's working a double tonight" "okay" I responded and looked for my dark high waisted shorts and white nirvana crop top. For some reason I felt like Matt was staring and became very insecure. "MATT CLOSE YOUR EYES!! I'm still looking!" "I was not looking" he protested. "yeah, yeah"I said when I had found my outfit and decided to just wear my aqua vans they we're my favorite. "Okay let's go!" "Finally" Matt exagerated. "Race ya down the steps" Matt challenged me. and I quickly trip him and get a head start. "Oh so that's how you wanna play!" he runs and tackles me at the bottom of the stairs. We both fall but him on top. He stares at my eyes then my lips. "umm Matt?" I say fearing what was just about to happen. "Oh um yeah sorry." he says scratching the back of his neck. "Lets go get something to eat" I say trying to break the awkwardness. "okay let's go get some Denny's and then go to the cliffs?" "Yeah sounds good Matt" On the way there Matt was texting the whole time. We arrived and order at Denny's and I decided to ask Matt who he was texting. "Ooh does Matt have a girlfriend?" "What? Noo!!" "Aww is The Matt Espinosa blushing?!?" "Shut up Emmiiillllyyyy." "Ooh so there is a girl?! TELL ME! TELL ME!! TELL-" I was yelling in the middle of Denny's until Matt gave in. "OKAY okay it's Chloe.." As soon as he said that I wanted to burst into tears, but I couldn't Matt doesn't know what she's done to me let alone what she even really is like. "I.. umm. I have to go Matt. Text me later!" I got up and ran home tears running down my face. A couple minutes later I hear Matt yelling my name and I just run faster.
