Chapter One

I'm not ordinary. Far from it actually. I've witnessed several deaths. I see people die every single day. I see their future each time my eyes made contact with theirs. I hate it. No, not hate, something stronger. Perhaps despise or loath. It terrifies me to no end.

Although it scares me, I can't help but be curious about what my future would be.

Decoding what my future will be, appears to be difficult. I always try but I never succeed. With just one look in the eye I can see everything that will happen to that person. It's odd though, I can't seem to decipher mine. They say; "The eyes are the windows to the soul." but I beg to differ. I see the future not the soul. I guess mine will remain as a mystery.

I'm a freak as people say it. I'll be always alone because of this curse. I was bound to die as a lonely soul.

Sighing as I got up from the porch, I grabbed my book and made my way to the library. People on the pavement parted like the red sea whilst staring at me when they think I'm not looking. Whenever I saw them looking, they would bow down their heads like some kind of peasant. I just gave off a vibe that probably says, 'look and die' kind of vibe.

Shrugging, I pushed the door open and Milly, the librarian, greeted me with a warm smile. She's the only person who dared to look at me and smile so I smiled back. Her smile grew wide once she saw my smile. Milly was the kind of person who doesn't care what kind of vibe you had thus, I am grateful for that, especially if she doesn't think of me as a specimen of some sort.

I went straight to my favorite seat in the corner of the room and got comfortable. Reading has always been a sense of escape from my reality, that's why I come to the library once in a while. It's eerily quiet here which is a perfect place to read. Nobody even tries to disturb or make noise. You'll have to go through Milly first and trust me, she loathes noise.

I easily got lost in my own imaginative world where my thoughts could be peaceful. The opening of the door brought me out of my trance. A newcomer has just arrived. Milly gave him a heart warming smile but he ignored it and stalked forward to my direction.

My eyes suddenly perked up with interest. This boy looks like he just got out of a fashion magazine. He was wearing a plain white v-neck shirt and some cargo pants. Plain but he looks good in it. He looks young though. Maybe a year or two younger than me. His blond hair was disheveled which made him look a tad bit older. All of a sudden, my body froze. His eyes, they were the lightest shade of blue I have ever seen. I awaited to see his future but I saw... nothing. Not a single thing. Odd.

I averted my gaze and continued to read "Eyes in Disguise." How ironic. Once again I was brought out of my haven by a deep masculine voice.

"Trinity Aaron, please come with me."

I looked up to know who disturbed my peace, only the find the same boy who just walked in.

"Tell me, why should I come with you? A random stranger, nothing else." I questioned. Curiosity got the best of me so I looked up. Our eyes connected but, nothing. I saw absolutely nothing but light blue eyes.

"Tell me, how can you say that I am foreign to you when I know all of your secrets and doings?"

That sentence shocked me the most. Does he? Does he know?

"Yes, now follow me."

I stood up, my mind completely blank. H-how did he know?

This was very fishy, I may say. A complete stranger asking me to follow him. Maybe he got the guts to kill me? I got nothing to lose, but why me?

A shiver ran down my spine because of the cold breeze that swept over. A plan, I need a plan. Aha! I got it. I followed the boy to his Chevrolet.

Trying to be a gentleman, he opened the door for me to get in. Perfect. I went to him as close as possible and used all my force to knee him where the sun doesn't shine. His hand went to where the pain was unbearable. Wrong move. I focused all my strength to my fist, which instantly collided with his face. Taking a deep breath, I made a run for it.

He was fast to recuperate and ran after me. I jolted all the way to the forest. Shoot! He's fast. I easily felt tired because I have no physical activity whatsoever going on in my life. I felt two strong hands grip my waist.

"Let me go!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. I felt one hand let go of me. Pain shot through my neck as I realized he just injected a weird looking syringe to my neck. I felt myself loosing consciousness as I slowly drifted to darkness.
