A laughable excuse of a yandere

Chapter 1: A new trend

Picking up your bag, you push open the front door and head outside. Today was the day you were going to go out and be independent for once. Sure, you did go outside with your friends, but you never really went outside alone. But you're so close to graduating from high school dammit! So you decided to practice going outside by yourself and exploring the new wonders and joys of being alone in public. The thought of browsing small storefronts and resting at a small coffee shop were some fantasies you had. Being that type of person to just walk through the town without a care, but your anxieties of the outside world silently judging you sometimes exposed the nervous wreck called (Y/N).

But you were determined to at least try! Even if it meant that it might cause you to feel suddenly insecure because the weight of society seeing your every move, you kept telling yourself that they were just thoughts. Smiling proudly to yourself, you walked down the old dull pavement and waited at the little humble bus stop that usually came to pick up the elderly people in your neighborhood. Turning on your phone, you checked to see what time the bus would arrive and you quickly rummaged through your bag for some bus money. Moving around the small knickknacks and loose change in your bag, you gathered up the right amount of change for the bus fair.

A loud sigh reached your ears, quickly making your head snap up. The big old bus lowered down, and the transparent glass doors opened after a few seconds. Stepping into the bus, you drop the fair onto the little stand near the bus driver and head to the back. Taking a seat near a window, you bring out your earplugs and plug it into your phone. Going through your recommended video feed on YouTube, you can't help but notice the strange news headline, "Young girl gets kidnapped in broad daylight!" you cock your brow to the weird title. In broad daylight? If the video is the girl being caught on camera, isn't it bad that the person filming wasn't helping her? Shaking your head, you tap onto the video.

"Are you truly prepared for the outside world? Well if you think you can rely on the police then you're wrong! A new fad has been appearing around lately and emergency forces need your help. A trend has been going around where young teens and adults have been confessing their undying love to their "Soulmate" everywhere, but not only that, it seems that they've also been behind the uproar of the growing missing people cases. We have exclusive footage from another news station where a kidnapping was done in broad daylight just behind this reporter was about to go on air."

The face of the man was soon replaced by a young women in her twenties. Checking her clothes and brushing the stray hands of hair out of her face, everything looked completely fine. Then, A loud shriek was heard and the view of the lady become obscured. The view pans to behind the women and near the sidewalk across from them, a young girl is being pulled in by a stranger. Her hair is disheveled and a distressed look is evident on her face, while the young boy behind her can be faintly heard in the background. He's saying nonsense about a future of her being his wife, and them being meant for each other. But the crazed expression that was hung on his face made the hair on your arms stand.

Heavy breathing is heard as the view goes back left and right, and the hurried calls from the news crew for the abductor to put down the girl. The screen shakes violently as you see one of the men try to keep the back car door open, but a punch is thrown to his face and the man falls down hard against the side of the road. More people can be seen running towards the black vehicle. But then, a loud bang rings out. The crowd of people stop dead in their tracks as a hand pokes out of the driver's window. Gloved hands hold out a pistol, the girls harsh crying can be heard in the backseat, but no one moves.

A low chuckle is heard from window. The hand draws back into the car and the engine starts up. The low rumble of the engine soon becomes feisty and gives out a mighty roar. A cloud of dust and dirt obscures the view and the faint outline of the car can be seen racing out and behind a corner. The clip ends, and it fades out to reveal the male reporter again. Letting out a deep sigh, the news reporter's face suddenly turns into a serious expression.

"Folks and viewers at home, I advise you to keep your loved ones safe and phones close because this is no matter to laugh at. This is Tom from News to You signing off."

"What the heck...?" you say as you scroll down to the comments. As you read the various comments about how absurd or fake people think the footage is. The weird feeling of someone watching you keeps pawing at the back of your mind. It's probably nothing though.
