Twilight Sparkle was reading a book on the floor in the throne room of her castle. Even though she was a princess and had plenty of duties to fulfill, she fortunately still had those days where she had nothing to do but relax and simply read. The room was filled with silence until the doors flung open and Pinkie Pie entered the room.

"Hey Twilight!" She exclaimed as she jumped towards her friend. "Whatcha doing?"

"Hey Pinkie. I'm just reading," Twilight replied not looking up from her book.

"Oh, cool!"

For two minutes, Pinkie stood there watching Twilight read, observing her book, which looked familiar to her. Then, she looked up at Pinkie.

"Oh, you're still here?" She asked as Pinkie Pie nodded.

"I came here because it's been a slow day at Sugarcube Corner and the Cakes said I could just take it easy," She explained. "Which is so weird because a lot of ponies are usually there. But every store has their quiet days I guess."

However, that wasn't the only reason why Pinkie came over to the castle. It was also because she had a crush on Twilight that's been strong ever since she moved to Ponyville and wanted to be with her. At first, Pinkie was confused of why her crush was Twilight, but then she realized it was because of how smart, kind, and pretty she was to her. But Twilight didn't know about her crush and she wanted it to stay like that for now.

"Hey, what book is that?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"'Before Midnight', a new romance novel that just came out a few days ago," Twilight answered.

"Oooh, I've read that before!" She said happily. "Did you know that Mintyfrost dies at the end?"

"Pinkie!" Twilight hissed as she looked at her friend. "You just spoiled the ending!"

"Sorry! I didn't mean to."

Twilight Sparkle rolled her eyes and closed the book to get another one. When she came back, Pinkie started talking again.

"So today I accidentally spilt some salt into the sugar bowl and when I tasted it, it had a weird and nice taste," She said. "Sweet, yet salty."

"Uh-huh," Her friend replied dryly. "You like everything."

"Well I didn't like those yucky muffins I ate at Starlight's old village."

As the minutes passed, Twilight was getting annoyed of Pinkie. All she wanted to do was read her book in peace and quiet. Though only one part of her was annoyed because the other part wanted Pinkie Pie to stay with her. Admittedly, she had feelings for her. She wasn't sure why that was the case, but she thought that it was because of her positive personality and how funny she was. She also loved the way she styled her mane.

Almost an hour passed and Twilight decided to give up reading her book and decided to find a way for her energetic friend to shut up. When she had an idea, she smiled mischievously.

"...and can't you believe that Manehatten banned-" Pinkie said before being cut off.

"Pinkie!" Twilight yelled as her friend froze in place. "I've been trying to enjoy my book, but you keep talking!"

"Oh, I'm sorry Twi," She apologized.

She notice that her unicorn friend's face changed from being angry to being forgiving.

"That's okay. In fact, I have something for you that'll make you stop talking."

Twilight got up, grabbed Pinkie, and kissed her. It was very unexpected, but she didn't complain. They slowly fell to the floor as they continued kissing.

Five minutes later, Twilight let go and smiled smugly at Pinkie, who was blushing a lot and breathing heavily.

"That's what you get for talking so much," Twilight spoke up.

"Wow Twilight," She whispered. "I-I didn't know you felt that way about me."

"Well I do and I've been hiding that for a while."

Pinkie got up and hugged her purple friend. She decided to also tell Twilight about her crush on her and left to give her some peace, and while the silence was nice, Twilight kind of missed Pinkie standing there and talking to her. She felt alone and all of her other friends were all either out of Ponyville or just busy. Even Spike was busy helping Rarity at the Carousel Boutique.

The night eventually arrived and before going to bed, Twilight heard a "thunk" sound on the window. She opened it and saw Pinkie Pie standing there with a rock in her hoof.

"Hi Pinkie," She said. "What are you doing here at this time?"

"Well, I was thinking that our name together should be Pinkie Sparkle or Pwilight or Twinkie," She said as Twilight smiled and gave a suggestion.

"How about Twipie?"

"We can go with that," Pinkie said as she started walking away. "Anyways, goodnight!"

"Wait! Pinkie, can I ask you something?" Twilight asked yawning.

"Anything!" She replied freezing in place.

"Can I...sleepover at your house? It's just that...I missed you when you left and I want to be closer to you."

"Awww, Twilight! You can come over!" Pinkie said happily as Twilight thanked her.

She grabbed her stuff and went outside as the two ponies ran to Sugarcube Corner. The two went inside the store and walked up to her bedroom. They then got into bed and snuggled together.

"Night Twilight," Pinkie whispered as she yawned, turned off the lamp, and fell asleep.

"Night Pinkie," She replied as she kissed her cheek and fell asleep.
