"Tony! What are you doing? We have to get out there and help the team!" yelled a familiar voice. "Come on Tony! Get up!"
Tony Stark was on the ground, incapacitated by anxiety. He had absolutely no idea who was calling him, but he had to make himself get up. His team was counting on him.
Tony pulled himself up, checked the damages on his suit, and flew up into the air to see if he could fix what he had missed. He saw that Hulk was running at a group of Red Skull cronies. They were enhanced in their physical abilities, but they were no match for an angered Bruce Banner. Each of the soldiers was knocked down like a bowling pin. Captain America, Steve Rogers, was taking on two or three at a time before throwing his shield into a group and knocking them to the ground. Natasha Romanoff, Black Widow, was taking on five men at a time.
Tony felt a hand land on the shoulder of his suit. He recognized it as Stephen Strange's. He turned toward Strange and gave him a quick, confident smile.
"I wouldn't wait up if I were you." Then Stark flew off into the heat of the fight.
Dr. Strange rolled his eyes in response and created a portal underneath one of the nearest cronies. He smirked and laughed to himself, he wouldn't let anyone say that to him without picking a fight, but Stark was different.
Stephen, and pretty much everyone else in the crew, including Thor, had been told about soulmates. Stark denied it, Natasha loved the idea that everyone has a soulmate, Thor thought nothing of it, Banner didn't deny it but wanted further proof on the subject, and Rogers agreed with Natasha. Stephen knew it was true because he had one. He couldn't tell anyone about it though, it would be too... strange. He couldn't risk tarnishing his or Stark's reputation.
Soulmates were made known to each other the first time they touched. When they touch, the name of their soulmate is put on their wrist. Most don't notice until it's too late and their soulmate is gone, or they never meet their soulmate. Stephen and Tony had only touched for the first time during the fight when Tony was incapacitated on the ground.

Once the fight was over, Strange checked up on Stark. Stark ran over to the man and hugged him tightly. This sent a jolt through both of them. Dr. Strange knew what it meant, but Stark thought it was because his suit was still malfunctioning from the damage. They backed up from each other.
"I apologize for my suit, electrocuting you. It does that when it malfunctions," said Tony.
"Oh-uh it's no problem. It didn't hurt too bad." Dr. Strange lied, it hurt because Tony was clueless.
"That's good." Stark placed his hand on Strange's shoulder, sending a full-fledged tidal wave of emotional currents through him. Stephen tried not to black out or cringe and fled the room quickly.
"Strange? What's the matter?" asked Rogers.
"Will you keep it a secret if I tell you?" replied Stephen.
"Of course! I have enough honor to do that."
"Cap, just look at my wrist."
Cap checked the wrist that Dr. Strange held out. A look of surprise, then shock, then happiness passed over his face.
"So, Tony's your soulmate? Interesting... Are you going to tell him?" Rogers' grin widened.
"I don't think so. Not until he checks his wrist."
"Wait! He doesn't even know he has your name on his wrist yet?" Cap was more than shocked now.
"It just happened today. He wouldn't know at all. I just happened to look down at my wrist when we got back to HQ. I'm not sure how I'd tell him."
Cap looked almost giddy. He was beaming and it was obvious he was hoping for this to happen. Then his face turned to a slightly less giddy and more worried expression.
"You aren't roommates, are you?" Cap asked slowly.
Dr. Strange looked away, not wanting to answer the question.
"Oh no! He's going to find out regardless if you tell him or not," said Rogers gravely. "We should ask Natasha for makeup or something. Whatever that stuff is called... converter? Crystalizer? Converse? Let's go ask her."
Steve dragged Stephen to Natasha's room. Rogers quickly knocked, listened for granted entry, and dragged Stephen in.
"Romanoff! Get out here, please!" commanded Cap.
Black Widow came out of the bathroom in a tank top and sweatpants. Her red hair was soaked and her skin was still wet from the shower she had just taken.
"What is it Cap," she said rolling her eyes at the scene that was bound to happen if Rogers were any more excited by what was going on.
"I think Strange should tell you," replied Cap.
Natasha's eyes went from Rogers to Strange as she waited for Strange to tell her what was going on. Strange held out his wrist for Natasha to see the name.
"Wow, Tony, that's a surprise. I knew there was something he was hiding, specifically in the closet," she said jokingly. "Stephen, are you okay with this?"
"Yes, I'm fine with this. I've, well, hoped for this to happen. Especially with Tony," responded Dr. Strange. "I need makeup to cover it up though, so he doesn't find out."
Natasha rushed to her bathroom and pulled out a small tube of concealer. She rubbed some on Strange's wrist. The color didn't match too well, but it would do since it was an insignificant mark to a person who had no idea what was going on.
Strange made his way back to his room, which he shared with Tony. Tony was in the bathroom, where he sat on the edge of the tub, trying to scrub something from his wrist. Stephen knew that Tony had found the mark.
"Strange! Get in here!" said Stark in a somewhat squeaky voice.
"Okay, I'm coming. Don't worry."
I made this for a few friends, please give me feedback because I need it before making the full plot.
