Light. There's light piercing through my eyelids; making them appear a fleshy red colour. Is it already morning; is it? Fuck. Maybe I should scream?
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! GODDAMMIT!"
That felt good, very good. I get up and stretch; my back, feet, hands, and neck pop. I throw on some clothes and head to the kitchen to make some coffee, but I was too late. A pot of coffee had been made and my mom had left me a note. I was alone in the house, as per usual in the morning times. I poured a cup of coffee and began to read the note.
"Have a good day Leo! I love you."
I sip my coffee and smile; then finish the coffee, wash it out, and walk to the bathroom.
"Jesus... I look horrible." I mutter, staring into the mirror.
I have very long, curly black hair, terrible black peach fuzz, and somewhat thick, black eyebrows. I'm third generation Japanese-American; and from what I've seen and been told about, all the men on my mom's side of the family have very dark hair and similar features. I do all I should do to get ready; throw on my beanie and aviators, and head out the door. I jump into my Cutlass and pop in the album "Nevermind" by Nirvana, fire up the engine, and speed out of the driveway. About twenty minutes later, I pull into a parking space at my high school; jump out, lock it up, and race to my locker. I slam through the front door and cracks form on the glass.
"Shit... can't worry about that right now."
I race to my locker, and come up to my row.
  "102,103,104,105,10- is that a girl?"
I stare at the... girl? in awe. She's wearing a cotton sweater, sunhat, long skirt, what look like ballet slippers, and... is that a tail?!?!
"Hehe... are you a little surprised to see my next
to what appears to be your locker?" She giggles, and it sounds amazing.
She's leaned up against the locker next to mine and I almost fall on my ass from surprise from the tail.
"Is that a fake tail? Or..."
"No silly! It's a real tail." She smiles as she takes off her sunhat to reveal her cat ears.
Welp... This is a situation. She's really pretty but... there's just something about her that's off (besides the fact she looks like a cross between human and cat)
"Uhhhm.... I uh- a-are you a transfer student or
    something?" I stumble out stupidly.
"Nope! I don't go to this school... but I've been
looking for someone!" They exclaim gleefully.
"Who? Y-Your boyfriend or something?"
They seem kinda surprised at me saying that. Not quite hurt but like they had been hiding something for some time and someone had just guessed what it was((THAT Definitely needs to be changed in the future... too blunt!))
"H-How did you figure out I like b-boys?" They
   ask scared-like.
"Well, I just guessed that you weren't a lesbian."
"L-Les... bian?" They seem to have a little
   trouble pronouncing it.
"You know, when a girl likes another girl."
They giggle and shift their stance, their smile returning as I pick myself up off the floor.
"Hehe... I'm not a girl, silly!" He giggles as his hands shift behind his back.
Oh. That's what has been nagging me. He's a boy. A very, very, very cute boy, but a boy all the same.
  "You're wearing girls clothes."
He grumbles and stamps his foot, "That old
fool! Harlequin said this was normal human
   attire"
He's all grumbly and I can't help but smile. "So
you said you were looking for someone?"
"Yes! I'm looking for a boy named Leo
Inoshida. Do you know him at all?"
I was taken aback. He was looking for me of all people! I shifted uncomfortably and met his eyes.
"Well, your search is over. That... that is me."
His face just lights up and he jumps at me, hugging me tightly.
"Yay! I found you before they did! Listen," he
has a serious face now, "you are in grave
danger and you need to follow me. Do you at
    all have a motor vehicle?"
"Uhhh... Yeah? I have a Cutlass-"
"I said motor vehicle, not a sword, silly!"
"No, a Cutlass is a type of car."
"Oh, okay! We need to go to that now!"
I start walking with him to my car when to slightly shorter-than-average men rounded a corner and spotted us.
    "Leo... run."
They start sprinting towards us, and I take the boy's hand; I sprint out of the building with him and straight to my car.
