Chapter Five-Marina

Once we broke through the Everglades, leaving Eight behind with Five, we decided to get some food before trying to contact John and the others. Behind me Six slips on some ice I didn't even know I conjured up. I hear Nine start to laugh and then he quickly shuts up as Six punches him in the arm.

"Hey Marina," I hear Six start. "could you maybe turn down the new Legacy a little?"

" I can try, this is my first Legacy like this after all." My first offensive Legacy. All my others are defensive, like my healing and night vision. I do try to turn down the ice, but I think I fail. I am still sorta upset at Nine.

"Thats a little better, thank you." Six says. I know she is probably only being kind because Legacies can be hard to control, especially when you just lost someone you care about. She also knows what it is like to lose someone as close as Eight was to me. When she was captured by the Mogs, they forced her to watch as they killed her cêpan, Katarina.

Before long, we at a small diner. Upon entering, everyone stares at us. We entered a small town, were everyone knows everyone. Nine walks up to the counter to order food for us, while Six and I stand back.

A man walks up to us, and my first instinct is to run, but Six must sense this and grabs my arm. Doesn't want us to looks suspicious I suppose.

" Where are you guys from? You two look beauti-" I cut the man short by grabbing his arm and turning on my Legacy a little bit. This is way too soon after Eight's death to be hit on.

"Marina," Six warns. I let go of the guys arm and he walks away quickly. Everyone else suddenly becomes interested in their food, and stops looking at us.

Nine walks up and notices the look on my face and hands me my food. I walk outside to eat, because there is no way I am sitting in the diner with those people. Six and Nine soon join me outside. Nine starts trying to take my fries, to which I retaliate by slapping his hand away. On his sixth try I shove him hard with my telekinesis.

Six instantly starts laughing, and Nine glares at both of us. I look at him and smile, a smile that I hope shows my forgiveness in it. Nine returns the smile as he plops one of my fries in his mouth.

"Hey! Not fair!" I shout. He responds by telekinetically throwing fries at me. I block some and try to return fire.

Soon we finish eating (Six put a stop to the french fry war) and we headed off, trying to find a way back to Chicago, or just to a pay phone, somewhere we can contact our friends.
