Sci emphatically sifted through boxes of belongings, determined to find what he had packed away some years ago. It had to be here. The article his colleagues referenced earlier that day had hit Sci like a Nerf dart right between the eyes. It had to be here. As he dug, he remembered carefree, and often reckless days at the university. He hadn't always come out on top, but he always learned something. One lesson in particular stuck out on this day: timing is so important.
Eureka. Sci moved aside a stack of old papers and lifted his prize from its temporary tomb. The Ionic Defibrillator, or so he liked to call it. He gazed upon it; excitement welling up in his throat. The little beauty was still in great condition. Running his hands across the smooth, stainless surface, he felt the elation from back when he had conceived the idea for his creation. A mobile charger that never needed to be recharged--a power pack that never ran out of power.
The desk where Sci usually spent his time running calculations--or pounding his fists--was cluttered with now-obselete material. He shoved it all aside to make way for the future. His colleagues hadn't fully understood the significance of the article they shared with him, but Sci had known immediately. He had only been able to create trace amounts of static electricity before, but this new discovery would change everything. He would change his own life, and the lives of millions of others.
