"WAHH!" I yelled out and sat up in bed. I quickly calmed myself and put my head down on my hand. At least I'm more quick to realize it's a dream now. I look to the window. It's bright and clear out. I rub my eyes. "Ah, I cant believe I woke up before my alarm..." I look to my alarm. "8:00! No, no, no." I kicked off the cover and ran around the room grabbing my bag and shoes. I ran out the front door bare foot. Still running, I slipped my backpack around my arms.

It only took me 7 minutes to get to school by keeping a fast pace. I didn't want to go to my locker because it would waste time and... I had a feeling Brian would be there. There's no going around it. I need my book. I don't think twice before turning the corner to where my locker is. Brain is leaning by my locker staring down at his fingernails. I go right up to my locker and open it and grab my book. I slam the door shut and death glare him. He pays me no attention, thinking I'm going to start the conversation.

Even though I do want to yell at him, I tell myself not to give in, so I turn around and start to go to my class. Then he speaks up. "Wake up late?" I turn back to him. He's looking down at me. He puts his hand down and stands up straight to look down on me even more. "Shut it, jerk! You turned it off, don't even try to play dumb."

I shouldn't have said anything. I should have just kept walking. I swear he's the only one that makes me so angry, I don't know why. Maybe because I live with him.

I can tell he loves my answer as he smiles and walks over to me. "That's not nice, Rice." He reaches his hand out to me. I instinctively slapped his hand away. "Did you really skip class to wait for me so you could torture me for a few more minutes out of the whole day? You could've waited hours for m-"
"You really think I'm that stupid?"

He grabbed my arm and swung my back to the lockers. "Yeah a little." I spat. He pulled me away to hit me back to the lockers again. He grabbed the sides of my face in one hand and squished them while he spoke. "Of course I just changed the time of your alarm, I didn't turn it off." He scrunched his face up. "Silly." His grasp on my face became tight. He looked down to my hands. "Your arms are free Rice. I'm not holding them down, what's wrong? Why don't you try to break free?"

Although I didn't want to do what he said in any way, I did want to speak, so I raised my arms and grabbed his hand. I tried pulling it off, but he held on even harder. I managed to be able to speak a little. "Juff wet me go to cwass!" He looked so amused. "What was that?" I tried to say it again, but this time it sounded like nonsense. I couldn't move him at all. I slowly put my arms down.

Still with one hand he brought me away from the lockers, closer to him. He whispered, "Nothing? Hmm, that's what I thought. Useless as always." He dropped his hand. I put my head down in pain then looked up. "What a great brother you are-"
..SLAP..

"Don't ever think of me on the same level as you." He scowled, then he turned and walked away. WHAT THE...

I don't understand him at all. I'll never get it. I picked up my book and went to my class. I walked in and shyly looked down as the teacher scolded me. "Don't just stand there now, go sit in one of those empty seats." I glanced to the seat and rushed there.

"It's the first day of the new semester and you kids are already fighting over seats and skipping class, disgraceful." I sat and opened my book to the first pages. "Haven't your parents taught you anything? Oh, and Mr. Harvin, don't think you are going to just skid by today. You'll have detention. Go to the office after school, understood?"
