The Dinner

It's Friday afternoon. You reach into your bag looking for the house keys and fumble around a bit. You just finished a business presentation with your good friend Jimmy. You feel a little tired but one thing keeps your spirits up no matter what. You finally get the keys and unlock the door and enter.

As you enter the house, a delicious fragrance bombards your nose making your mouth water. Your stomach growls in anticipation wondering what it is. You see your girlfriend on the couch watching some TV, she usually gets home quite earlier than you. She gets up from the couch smiling "Y/N (Your name)! Welcome home I have a surprise for you!" She turns off the TV and gets up the couch and hugs you on the side kissing you on the cheek, when she parts she says "I tried out a new recipe to cook, I hope you love it"
You take off your work bag and hang it on the rack, then look back at her and can't help but smile. She has always been so kind and caring for you, not to mention she was extremely gorgeous and you felt like the luckiest guy/girl to have her. "Ooh really? Thank you dear, I can't wait to taste it!" You reply back to her which makes her give an adorable giggle. She then lets you follow her to the kitchen where two plates are laid out with Salmon fillets with grilled vegetables. The fragrance from earlier intensifies and your eyes sparkle in hunger. Your girlfriend pokes you in the cheek laughing "Are you just going to stare? Let's go eat!"
You sit down next to her and pick up your fork digging into the filet, when you put the filet to your mouth it tastes so delectable. You could tell she really put her heart and soul into it. She watched you worried if you'd enjoy it but you take her hand reassuringly after swallowing and tell her smilingly "I love it dear" She beams happily smiling as wide as can be, you really loved this side to her. Her personality always made the stresses of life just seem to fade away.
She then eats as well, she looks really cute when she takes those small bites and you often tease her as she was too scared to get fat "Hey! Don't look at me like that! This is healthy!" She pouts when you smirked at her "It's ok dear, I'm just messing with you. So anything new today?" She finishes her bite and looks at you thinking then says "Ah yes! Tomorrow I'm going on a trip with some friends to the waterfall. I'll be back though by Sunday." She says to you casually, but then she notices the worry in your eyes. "Awww are you worried for your little boo?" She then gets closer and holds your head in her arms. "Don't worry about me, I'll make sure to be safe." She then comments "Oh yay you finally shaved your beard hehe" She really hated when you had any facial hair, and you wanted to please her. "Alright I trust you, just make sure to get me a souvenir haha" You reply back and continue to eat your meal as she separates.
The dinner goes by smoothly and both of you enjoy each other's company until she accidentally bumps her glass which spills your favorite drink all over your shirt. "Oh no! I'm so sorry Y/N!" She hurriedly gets up and grabs some paper towels trying to dry off the liquid before it stains your shirt, her clumsiness causes you to chuckle and say: "My oh my whatever shall I do without you" You tousle her hair.

When she's done drying your shirt she says "I'll do the laundry this Sunday, just cause I stained your shirt" She says scratching her head in embarrassment. "Alrighty, maybe you should be clumsy more" You say relaxing as you now have less chores to do. "But you are going to help me wash the dishes though" Drat, you thought you were free from chores this Friday. You nod with defeat and begin helping her wash the dishes, you decided it would be funny to splash some water on her which then she splashes back, you both laugh at the silliness of the situation and when you are done with the dishes she says "Wanna go watch a movie? I heard Sherrif Brigham is a good movie" You shrugged "Why not, I'll go stream it in the TV in our room" You then go to the room after changing your clothes and brushing your teeth then set up the movie, then laying in bed patiently. Shortly after your girlfriend gets ready for bed and lays in bed next to you and snuggles up by your shoulder waiting for the movie to start. You then press play.

She and you enjoy the movie quite well, It was about a sheriff and his pet cat busting the notorious gang in the wild west who's been stealing all the blinis (Russian pancakes). Your girlfriend laughs a lot at the silliness of the plot and you just smile at her wrapping your arm around her. She is soft and warm causing you to get drowsy as the movie comes to an end. When the credits roll you hear her say "Y/N?" She says peering up at you "Yeah?" You reply barely awake "You forgot to give me a goodnight kiss, I won't be able to get one from you tomorrow  Oh yes you nearly forgot. You smile at her and gives her a loving kiss on the lips, the kiss feels like ages and when you two are done she turns off the TV and hugs you while you both lay down to sleep "Goodnight Y/N, I love you" She says softly "Love you too" You say drifting off to sleep.

You then wake up, your girlfriend is absent next to you which makes you worried. You were supposed to give her a proper goodbye tommorow. You hope out of bed and notice the house is a mess, everything seems disorganized as if a tornado went through. You then looked at the mirror and saw yourself with a beard and deep eyebags, your clothes looked as if it was many days old. Confused to exit the bedroom and see the same type of mess and look in the kitchen and see piles of dishes stacked up. Boxes of TV dinners are piled up in your trashcan spilling out, adding more to your confusion. You begin to investigate more of your house, and it looked nothing like you remembered it the night before, the confusion begins to give you a headache and you sit there wondering. Finally, you get the idea to go check your phone. You see tons of unread messages from friends saying 'If you ever need someone to talk to I am here for you' or 'Im worried about you, it's been 2 months since I've seen you" and 'Buddy, it's me, Jimmy, you are going to lose your job if you don't come back'

It then hits you, her trip to the waterfall...the accident..the funeral..all the painful memories start flooding back overwhelming your heart causing you to sink to the floor streams tearing down your face. "I miss you so much.." You wallow to yourself in intense emotional pain relieving the agony you suffered these past 2 months daily, and to the corner of your eye, you see the shirt she stained and said she would've washed. You remember her bubbly personality bringing you light in your life. You remember when she'd shower you in kisses in public causing you to get embarrassed. You remember you planned to engage to her that Sunday. But now you are alone.
