third person;
"cakesniffing orphans in the orphan shack! cakesniffing orphans in the orphan shack!" sung the entire cafeteria of Prufrock Prepartory School with of course, Carmelita Spats singing it the loudest.
"Leave them alone Carmelita, you're the cakesniffer and no one in their right mind would want to eat with you anyway." Duncan Quagmire exclaimed, stepping in front of the Baudelaires, sort of protecting them from Carmelita. Klaus Baudelaire's (12) the middle child with two sisters, Violet Baudelaire (14) and Sunny Baudelaire (2) breath hitched at the sight of this boy. he was immediately mesmerised by his bravery to stand to the snob who was Carmelita.
"Come sit with us," replied a girl who he recognised, she was in Mrs. Bass' class with him.
the five children had spent the lunch break trying to work out why two of the children, Klaus and Isadora, who Klaus soon worked out was the name of the girl from class had two parts of a spy glass. They headed back to the orphan shack. once they got there Violet and Sunny got to work, Violet inventing a machine that would scare away the crabs that infested the shack with of course Sunny's help by using her incredibly sharp teeth to help Violet shape some metal. the three other children decided to get comfortable on the stacks of hay. Klaus desperately try to get a seat next to Duncan, but Isadora had inconveniently placed herself inbetween the two boys. Klaus decided just to lean forward so he had a good view of Duncan who sat at the other side of the hay. The four children discussed more theories on the spyglass and what it had to do with their parents. soon Violet had created a lit up mobile which spun, scaring the crabs away. the three children sitting on the hay were in awe of her great handyman skills, especially Duncan.
"that's a lot better," he said, flirting with Violet.
Klaus felt something within him, something he had never felt before. His stomach felt like it was in knots. his face heated up as he clenched his left fist. he didn't know what he was feeling at this moment, all he knew was he didn't like it, this feeling and whatever was going with Duncan and his sister. He instantly rose his voice changing the topic, attempting to distract the others from their previous conversation. Klaus thought at this moment he was being a protective younger brother and that he didn't want his sister going around flirting with other boys, but what was really happening is that he was Green With Envy.
