01 ~ How We Met

Annyeong! My name is Do Soo Ra. I am Korean and I can speak 2 languages, korean and english. So here's my story.

I was born in Daegu, South Korea on 15 May 1998. It was very fun living there. I had lots of friends and my cousins to play with. Kim Ha Eun was my bestie and we do everything together. I didn't have any siblings so I usually play with Ha Eun. I lived in Daegu for 7 years until...
"Soo Ra, we're going to have to move to Australia."

I was very upset because i dont want to leave korea, but i had to. The main reason is... my dad got a better job there. It was hard to let go the people i know.

As I moved there, everything was new. A new home, new places, new faces and most importantly, new school. I remember how it felt to be a foreigner in that new school. I was like an M&M in the middle of Skittles. Not so different.  Everyone treated me differently, though. Some treat me nicely, even too nice until i feel kinda bad. Some treat me just awful.

First day, I was such a shy girl and i didnt want to talk. Its not that i dont want to talk but i barely can speak english. I went to the principal's office as i arrived. I talked to her although we only understood each other little by little. She was very nice. She understood my awful grammar and she helped me to fix it as we talked.

In the middle of us talking, a boy cane into the room. "Morning, Ms.Rose," he said with a great big smile. He looks nice, I thought. He have dark brown hair, fair skin and dreamy eyes. Ms.Rose looked at me and tapped my shoulder, "Soo Ra, for a few days, he will help you do things. Just ask him questions if you need to. Soo Ra, meet Christopher." The boy looked at me, smiling. "Hello Soo Ra, i'm christopher although you can call me chris. I'm a 3rd grader which means i am one year older than you. Oh, and i also speak korean." I was shook the moment he said "Oh, and i also speak korean." An Australian 3rd grader able to speak korean? I was happy though. At least i have friend to speak to with the korean language.

He came towards me and we shook our hands. I thanked Ms.Rose and went outside the room with Chris. He led me to my classroom. From that time and on, he was my only close friend.
