Tom
Wouldn't dream of it.

Tom snapped his head up at the sound of a knock on his trailer door.

"Come in." He called before none other than Chris Pratt entered.

"What's up Tom?"

"Absolutely nothing." Tom responded with a frown. "I've been so bored today."

"Doesn't Phoenix usually keep you company?" Pratt wondered. "Matter of fact, I don't think I've seen her today. Is she here?"

"Did someone tell you to ask me that?" Tom wondered. He knew Mackie and Scarlett weren't on set yet and he couldn't imagine anyone else asking him about Phoenix.

"Huh?" Pratt raised an eyebrow. The look on his face let Tom know he was genuinely curious. "Nobody told me to ask."

"Sorry." Tom apologized. "She's in New York with Evans. Seeing Hamilton."

"Wait a minute. I didn't know she and Chris were... involved."

Tom chuckled. The funniest thing to him about Chris Pratt was the fact that he always seemed to be out of the loop when it came to certain things. All Pratt really did on set was make jokes and mind his own business so it shouldn't have been a shock that he missed the memo.

"It's just a date." Tom shrugged. "But while we're on the subject, can I ask you something?"

"Of course!"

"How do you know if you have feelings for a certain person?" Tom asked. He trusted Chris Pratt more than almost anybody else on set and knew he would give an honest and real response.

"I'm going to need more to go on before I give you an answer."

"As you and pretty much everyone else knows, I've been friends with Phoenix for a while now. It's always been just platonic friendship, nothing more." Tom began. "We were sitting together the other day just playing video games and I randomly thought about what it'd be like to kiss her. Just out of the blue... then I remembered what I told Mackie and Scarlett about not wanting to risk our friendship over something that might not last. But looking back on our relationship, it's insane how well we get along. We've NEVER argued about anything. I don't even think I've even gotten upset with her... Maybe Phoenix and I could actually work out."

"Hmm." Pratt scratched his head. "I think what your feeling is just a response to the fact that Phoenix agreed to go on a date with Evans. I truly believe that if you were 100% serious about this, those feelings would've entered your head before Chris even came into the picture as a contender. I wouldn't say jealousy is the factor per say. What it looks like to me is that you may not be willing to share Phoenix with Chris. Maybe you're worried that if she and Evans get serious, she won't have as much time to spend with you?"

Tom took a second to think. He never denied the fact that he thought Phoenix was beautiful but it was true that he didn't look at her in a romantic way until Evans made his feelings known. All of a sudden, the question Don Cheadle asked him 2 weeks ago made a lot more sense... Would he actually be okay with the ramifications of anything popping off between Chris and Phoenix?

"How do I get rid of this feeling?" Tom asked. "Evans is my friend as much as Phoenix is. I want nothing but the best for them both."

"As much as you probably don't want to hear this, you have to talk to them individually man." Pratt replied. "But I'd wait a little bit. Who knows, Evans and Phoenix might realize they're not even compatible and your fears wouldn't even matter anymore."

"Well that's the thing... I think they are very compatible."

"I don't know, Tom. Phoenix is what, 21-22ish? There's a pretty steep age difference between the two of them. With that could come many issues. I know for a fact Chris has been talking about marriage and fatherhood. Personally, I wasn't ready for that in my early 20s." Pratt brought up. "I'm not saying it's impossible but it's very unlikely that a relationship can be sustained with an age difference of 13-15 years. In this generation, Chris could be old enough to be her father."

"That is true." Tom nodded. "Phoenix definitely isn't wanting marriage or kids for probably another decade, knowing her."

Pratt gave Tom a pat on the shoulder. "I honestly don't think you have anything to worry about. It'll all work itself out."

Although Chris made valid points, Tom was still worried about his relationship with Phoenix and how their dynamic would change if things got serious with Chris. He wasn't sure what it was that made him so nervous, maybe the potential of what could be? All he knew was that it was time for him to seek advice from one of his best friends that just so happened to be his age: Zendaya.
