A True Story
Experienced by: Me
I remember it was somewhere in November or so. My brother is in the Air Force and we would stay in the same state with him. It was quite an adventure just exploring this state and seeing new places. The Airbnb we stayed at was very roomy and welcoming. Sea Shells decorated the walls, an ocean blue underneath. One bedroom and a pullout couch. The couch was on the other side of the kitchen in the living room, a counter separating the two. After getting settled in our weekend home, we decided to watch movies on the TV on the couch. Me being the 14 year old girl I was, I was excited to stay in a new place. I always fancied hotels, but an Airbnb had hotels beat with a toaster you can actually toast your strudels in.
Then came the last day of our stay there. It was a bit saddening, seeing as it was a nice place and I knew it meant going back home to the same boring town we've been in for 5 years. As it turned to night, we decided to rest and wake early morning to pack our belongings and leave. I pulled out the couch, I smiled as I was going to cherish the last night we stayed there. My parents were staying in the bedroom across from the hall which wasn't very far. I curled up in the blankets in the silent night and joked to myself about someone breaking through the window that was positioned a few feet away from me. After about an hour or so, I finally knocked out. I can't really remember the dream, but it felt so...odd. It was like I was half awake and half asleep. But I wasn't aware of it at the time. I remember going through with whatever dream I was having and suddenly, I felt the breath of a woman to my left as she whispered.
"Look up."
My body suddenly reacted and I shot up from the couch and peered over the counter to the dark kitchen. Eyes adjusted to the dark, I could see my mother, she wore the expression of a deer caught in headlights. I then relaxed and placed my body back down on the couch as my mother asked me, "Are you alright?" I then fell asleep again.
The next morning, I told my parents about it. I had never heard that woman's voice before, yet it was so familiar. My mother said she was getting a drink when suddenly I jolted up and stared at her, she was silent and I was asleep. "It kind of freaked me out." My mother laughed. I was wondering about the voice and asked my mother what she thought it was. She replied. "Maybe it was your guardian angel."
Maybe...Maybe not...
It's been awhile and I'm almost 16 and I still think about it, I can even still feel her whisper. I still wonder though...And thinking about it has given me the chills but-
Was the woman saying to look up at my mum...?
...Or the ceiling...?
