'Any way the wind blows'
He didn't get it yet, his lack of touch with the modern world rather evident. All those years of being trained as a killing machine left him at a loss of connection with the 21st century, his understanding relatively vague.
Yes, that's right, this was about Bucky. You had said these words to him a few days ago and he was still trying to piece together what they meant. Were you being cryptic? Or perhaps there was something you had referenced? He had no idea. The annoyance was creeping around in his mind, the words swaying and swirling around like the wind, whispering and echoing over and over and over.
This is where it had gotten him, on the internet with a rather unclear notion to try and find out what you had meant all those days ago. His mind prepared, he found his way to the internet to do some research. As he typed in the words he found two more, these fitting together in a pretty odd manor; "Bohemian Rhapsody". He managed to click the link and a video popped onto the screen. Music began to fill the room as he listened intently to the song. Bucky hung on to particular lines, many of them resonating deeply with him and reflecting his own life.
'No escape from reality'
'Just killed a man'
'Life has just begun, but now I've gone and thrown it all away'
'Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth'
'I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all'
''Nothing really matters, anyone can see, nothing really matters, nothing really matters to me'
'Any way the wind blows'
It all began to make sense, there was a such a deep connection that he had with the song, the words eased through his mind and stuck to all the things he had thought and been through. This song seemed perfect for him. The mixture of sounds and sudden changes were like the thoughts in his head, the words were deep and painful, oddly he loved it.
Once the song ended, he went in search for you to perhaps thank you, express his emotions that he didn't usually show, he wasn't quite sure. He just knew that he had to talk to you.
After he found you, Bucky began to explain just how much the song meant to him and how he could have never found it without you. You admitted that you said them because the song had made you think of him and you thought it would fit him well. Then it dawned on him, it was like you knew him better than he knew himself. Before you could even blink he had wrapped himself around you in a hug, all the emotion he couldn't express in words finding their way to you. You smiled softly as he hummed the song quietly in your ear. Bucky had found himself in a song, and it was all thanks to you.
You then brought yourself up to his ear, whispering softly, 'Any way the wind blows'.
