Elena's POV
As I was walking through the streets of New York, I saw a tiny bookstore. "Let's go in," Bonnie said. I nod my head, grateful she pointed it out.
As we walk in, the smell of old books fills my nose. I immediately walk towards the romance section, skimming the shelves for something interesting.
Suddenly, someone came up behind her. "Excuse me, Miss. Does this belong to you?" He shows her a library card. Her library card. "Oh, thank you. I didn't realize I had dropped it."
"No problem," he says. "What is your name?" I ask. "Damon Salvador. And you?" "Elena. Elena Gilbert." He smiles. "That's a lovely name you have." "As is yours," I respond. We spent the rest of the day there. But of course, the night came to an end.
"I have to go. I have to meet up with my friend." He nods. "I figured. Is she the girl in the back who has been staring at you?" I nod. "Well, I'll be here tomorrow at around 2 pm if you wanna meet up." I smile back. "That sounds pleasant." We exchange goodbyes and head off.
As I walk towards Bonnie, she asks, "who was that you were talking to?" I blush, thinking of him walking towards me. "His name is Damon. We're actually gonna meet up tomorrow. Do you think I should go?"
She nods eagerly, twirling her hair. "I wish I had a man like that." We start walking and she starts to babble about how she was going to North Carolina for a business trip. But all I could think about was Damon. He's so kind. But what if he doesn't show up? "He will. He loves you."
