Rebecca walked down the hallway, smiling and chatting with her friends. But suddenly, she spotted a mop of corn-silk hair.
"Soren!" she called, as she ran over to him, and looked back with an apologetic face, "Sorry guys! I have to go!" Her friends waved back and snickered.
"Yeah, have fun with your boyfriend!" They sneered, giving her a look that clearly told her they did not approve.
Rebecca, paying no mind to their taunts, ran to greet her boyfriend. "Hi Soren!" she exclaimed.
Soren looked to Rebecca and smiled. "Hey! How's it going?"
"Fine! How was your day?"
"Eh. It was okay."
They chatted on and on about school, until Soren saw some of the popular kids he called his friends. He immediately ran off and ditched Rebecca to talk with them. Rebecca stared at Soren, wishing for him to come back. When he didn't, she sighed and walked off. Suddenly, she spotted Stephen and some random kid she saw a few times around school .
"Stephen!" she shouted as she ran toward him.
"Hi Rebecca," he said as he waved, "Oh here's someone I'd like you to meet! This is Dennis," he said, introducing a seemingly shy, debonair, dark haired lad.
Rebecca looked at Dennis and said with a smile, "Hi! I'm Rebecca! Nice to meet you!" as she stuck out her hand.
"Hi." Dennis said as he looked down at her outstretched hand and reluctantly shook it. Well that wasn't very enthusiastic. Rebecca thought. What did I do wrong? Tch, who cares what he thinks.
Suddenly, Soren walked over, throwing his arm around Rebecca. "Excuse me, but we have to go," he said rather rudely. After walking a while, dragging Rebecca along, Soren finally stopped near the cafeteria.
"Rebecca, what were you doing hanging out with those guys?" Soren questioned, a dangerous edge creeping in his tone that told Rebecca not to argue.
"But they're my friends," answered Rebecca stubbornly, her reckless personality getting a hold of her. Perhaps not that unenthusiastic guy. Hm, I forgot his name. Whoops. "What's wrong with hanging out with them?"
"Well I'd like to remind you that we are dating, and that you are my girlfriend." Soren said, creasing his eyebrows as he glared at Rebecca.
"We were only talking! What in the world is wrong with talking with a few friends?" protested Rebecca.
"Well it does matter if it's with the opposite gender!" Soren shouted, losing his calm facade.
Says the one who hangs out with other girls 24/7, Rebecca thought bitterly. However, she decided to not mention it. Instead she retorted, "Fine! I won't talk to them! Hmph!" as she turned away and stormed away.
"But Rebecca-" Soren protested as he stared at her steadily retreating back. He stared forlornly as she walked off into the distance, and then sighing, walked off in the opposite direction.
Rebecca was fuming. He didn't even say sorry! Why can't I hang out with the freaking opposite gender? Is it so wrong? It's not like I would cheat on him. Tch.
As she stormed off she encountered Dennis. Dennis quirked his eyebrow as he watched Rebecca stomp toward his direction. Pft, I feel bad for the poor soul who set her short fuse off. Hah. Should I talk to her? It wouldn't hurt right? Dennis thought.
"What in the world made you, Ms. Sunshine, turn into Ms. Frowny Face?" Dennis smirked.
"EXCUSE ME?", shouted Rebecca, running toward Dennis and jabbing a finger into his chest. "I JUST- hmph." Rebecca trailed off.
