I walked on the dark path in the woods. My mom finally let me out for the first time. My dog, Sunset, was with me for comfort. My best friend, Remi, and her dratini, was also with me. It was the year 2059. Civilization became more common. Global warming was reversed and littering problems lessened. Japan made pokemon real. (disclaimer: pokemon are not mine! Hawksflare put this disclaimer here!)
"So, what are we going to do when we get to the end of the forest?" Remi asked. I thought about my plan that I wrote down before we left.
"I was gonna go for a walk with Sunset, but it's too dark now. So i just decided to just go through the woods. Then I will find out who that idiot who is haunting me is." I said. Remi stared at me. Then she rolled her eyes.
"I told you, Asteroid! There is no such thing as ghosts! it's probably just the windy weather we have around here." Remi said, petting her Dratini's head. I thought I heard footsteps as we walked, but it was just the crunching sound of twigs and dry leaves we are stepping on.
When we got to the end of the woods, it was dark. Very dark. You probably couldn't even see a dog out there. I took out my flashlight. Sunset followed me to a tree. Remi sat down, and patted the spot next to her.
"Sit. Let's have a quiet talk for a minute or two. Shall we?" Remi said. I sat down and nodded.
I picked up a stick and threw it.
"Fetch, Sunset!" Sunset ran after the stick as fast as lighting. She brought it back. It was covered in dog slobber. Disgusting. Sunset sat on my lap. Remi's Dratini hummed in disgust.
"So, what did you want to talk about?" I said. Sunset looked around and saw three pairs of dark red eyes. She started growling. Remi and I looked at Sunset as she walked towards a strawberry bush. She stopped growling for a moment and ate a berry. Then she walked forward and disappeared in the shadows.
We followed her, thinking that she might of chased a squirrel or rabbit for dinner. We jumped over the bush and followed the footprints that led to a tree trunk. There, we saw Sunset barking and biting a net that hung over Sunset.
"What is it, girl?" I said, picking her up. Remi looked up and saw the net filled with scared and wounded parrots.
"Uh, Asteroid," Remi started. I kept talking to Sunset as she barked.
"Asteroid." Remi said. I still didn't hear her because of all the barking and the racket that Sunset was making.
"ASTEROID!" Remi yelled. I looked up. Sunset stared at Remi and growled.
"Yeah?" I said. Remi slammed her hand onto her forehead.
"There's parrots up there. I think you should take a look for yourself if you don't believe me." Remi said, pointing up to the shrieking parrots.
"Oh. My. Gosh." I said. The parrots were pecking the thick rope the was around them all. I saw what the rope was tied to and walked to it. I put Sunset down and untied the rope.
"It's tight, Remi. I need a hand." I said, struggling with the knots in the tightened rope. Remi walked over and tried to untie the rope, but failed. Remi tapped her chin curiously and nodded slowly.
"This is the rope that people use when they want to catch something. It can't be removed by hand. We're going to need to find someone with either magic, like a wizard, or a knife." Remi said. "C'mon. We're going to the gun store." We ran out of the woods and into the city. I saw the kids getting out of school.
I forgot all about Caroline and Zenith! I need to pick them up and call a babysitter! I thought. Caroline and Zenith were twins. I was the oldest and Caroline was older by twelve seconds. As we slowed down a little bit, I tapped on Remi's shoulder.
"I need to pick up my little brother and sister. I'll meet you at the gun store. Make sure you get a Scout knife!" I yelled as I ran towards the school.
"Can't I just ask dratini to cut it? Pokemon are magical! oh whatever.." Remi yelled back. She ran inside the gun shop and asked for a Scout knife.
"Do you have any Scout knives?" Remi asked the clerk. The clerk nodded and showed the brand new Scout knife they bought. It was very sharp edges and was long.
"Thanks." Remi said as she paid the money to the clerk. The clerk nodded.
As I waited for Remi outside of the gun store with Zenith and Carol, I called Cassandra, Zenith's usual babysitter. She was coming soon to pick them up.
Remi came out with the Scout knife in hand. She removed the cover and Zenith yelled something that you could hear a mile away.
"WHAT? THAT'S A SCOUT KNIFE! THIS IS AWESOME! ARE YOU USING IT FOR A MISSION? OR FOR TRADING? WILL YOU GET MONEY FOR IT? IF SO GIVE ME HALF THE MONEY!" Zenith yelled. Everyone stared at us. I blushed in embarrassment.
Cassandra came in a lamborgini to pick them up and bring them back home.
"Have fun with Cassandra!" I told them and gave Cassandra the home keys. Then I walked away with Remi back towards the woods to save the parrots.
