Depuis le début

But at least I'm not alone, he's here.

When the thought entered her mind, it seemed so silly but it was true... it was oddly comforting knowing that Aditya was around. She wasn't as scared anymore, albeit her mind had been take over by tons of questions before but after coming to terms with the fact that he was here, just made her feel like she had someone she knew, around.

It was true that Zoya didn't really know Aditya but there was a connection there, one that she just couldn't ignore. She felt it that night and she felt it again on the night of the exhibition. There was something in the way he understood her when they talked at the party and just the way she felt every time he touched her... like she didn't him to go away. She was reminded of the image of him holding trying to catch his breath after he saved her and suddenly, she was at peace.

If processed, this odd feeling could lead to several questions and probable hit at her conscience so she simply decided to let the feeling make her at ease so she could get through the flight.

________

Zoya texted her father that she had reached the airport, while also struggling to manage her luggage along. She cursed herself for not eating in the flight simply because she was taking a nap and was too sleepy to say yes when the air hostess got her meal. She barely got any sleep the night before as she spent the night packing and cooking for the next day's meal for Yash. Su suffice to say, she was hungry sleepy mess.

Aditya, on the other hand, was in a good mood like he always is after a successful flight. He was walking towards the staff area to get the details about plane he would be flying home. It was going to be few hours before it, he was guessing.

"I'll see you later then" His co-pilot said, patting him on the back and leaving his side. Aditya smiled as he nodded at him. He looked the other way and for a second, thought he was dreaming. It was a frantic, struggling with her luggage, Zoya. Not that he dreams about her every night... let's be real, he had quite a few times, all of them consisted of replaying the night from the very beginning he saw her at the bar table dunking down shots.

He saw her text someone and as soon as he was going to look away, she looked up... straight at him. He contemplated what he should do and even thought of running away but decided against it. An awkward smile is what he could come up with and he figured Zoya was in the same position as she slightly raised her hand for a slow gently, "I don't know what I'm doing" kind of wave. He wanted to laugh at how cute she looked while doing it but stopped himself.

Since they had already acknowledged each other's presence and she was clearly struggling, Aditya decided to actually go towards her. He walked closer to her, stopping at what he thought was a 'safe' distance.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" He asked, with the same awkward smile.

"I am actually from Mussoorie..." Something was off, she looked exhausted, almost weak and Aditya wasn't sure what would be the right thing to do. He saw her lose her balance a little bit and instinctively, his arms went up around her. They didn't touch her but he just wanted to make sure she didn't fall.

"Zoya! Careful." He retracted his arms, still unsure because he was starting to get worried.

"I'm sorry, it's nothing... I just-" And what he was worried about happened, she lost her balance and was on her way to collapsing right on the ground. Obviously, Aditya caught her before she could fall, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her up towards him. He had never been that scared about anything ever except the night he saved Zoya from being practically run over by a car. Only she had that effect and in this moment, all Aditya wanted was for Zoya to wake up and tell him she's fine.

He didn't know if he should call a doctor or rush her to some emergency room because it's not like she was badly wounded. He grew more panicked by the second but still held her up tightly, as he felt her gently rest her head against his shoulder. To his surprise, her phone started ringing and he tightened his grip on her with one hand, to use the other to take her phone from her hands.

Checking her phone would probably not be appropriate and it would be worse if the call was from her husband. The thought made him very tense but since Zoya had mentioned that was from Mussoorie, it was possible that it was a relative of hers. Aditya looked at the screen as "Dad" flashed over it. He felt a little relief that it wasn't Yash and accepted the call. It was only fair to tell her father that his daughter had fainted in the middle of the airport.

"Hello, Sir." He said nervously while holding on to Zoya.

"Who is this? This is my daughter's number." Aditya felt the tense tone in his voice of hearing the sound an unfamiliar voice on his daughter's phone.

"I am Aditya Hooda... her friend." What a blatant lie, he knew. But it was too complicated and too inappropriate to explain to Zoya's father, of all people, what the details of their non-existent relationship were.
