"Can you cover your entire body?" she asked, referring to my quirk. I nodded and did as she had requested, the green glow surrounding my entire body.

"What's your quirk called?" she asks, opening the back of her invention and tinkering with its insides, moving a screwdriver about.

"Aura." She let out a small amount of laughter, attempting to touch you again but getting an even brighter glow from the area she tried to touch.

"A natural reaction?" I hum, watching what she was doing. She seemed proud as she lifted up her contraption, flipping the on switch. It turned on, sounding like a vacuum while shaking gently on the table. It seemed to be a magnet, its attractiveness barely disrupting the glow which surrounded me. But it was doing something, it moved and flickered in the area closest to the contraption.

"I was right." She seemed excited by this, turning off the machine and turning to you.

"A magnetic field," she announces, pointing at me. I nodded, knowing exactly what she was talking about.

"It's a weakness which I've become accustomed to," I explain.

"How so... um sorry we didn't even introduced ourselves."

"Oh, (Y/n) (L/n) and I think you know as much as I do that if there is a magnet strong enough it could completely mess up my quirk and leave me defenseless." She nods, holding out her hand for me to shake.

"You're pretty smart, (L/n). I'm Hatsume Mei by the way," she introduced with a cheery smile, hoping that I'd accept her hand and shake it. Not feeling anything threatening about the pink-haired girl, I reached for her hand and shook it, my hand not being covered in the aura so our palms touched.

"Can you be selective about who you want to touch you?" she asks, lifting my hand up so she could inspect it. I shrugged my shoulders.

"It's a trust thing, if I trust someone enough then I let my guard down when I'm around them. But I can also be selective about it. Since I feel nothing hostile about you, I trust that touching your hand won't cause any problems," I explained. She listened carefully, not letting go of my hand, eyes zooming in on my face.

"Something wrong, Hatsume?" I ask causing her to jolt in shock. She quickly shook her head and let out some laughter, releasing my hand from her grip.

"Oh it's nothing, you were looking for directions, right?" she said, changing the subject. Remembering that I was supposed to meeting Hitoshi, I nodded my head.

"Uh yeah, I need to know where the general studies building is, can you help me?" She hummed in response, pointing out the window to a building on the other side of the school.

"It would've been faster if you just went straight there, general studies is on the other side of the school. It's the building to the left of the hero course," she explained. My cheeks heat up a little in embarrassment.

"Uh sorry to waste your time," I apologized, bowing my head. She continued to smile, shaking her's.

"It's fine, since I made a new friend I see no problem in it. Drop by whenever you want and I can show you some more of my babies, (Y/n)-chan," she mused, giving me a nickname. It didn't bother me at all, it was a sense of familiarity which I couldn't help but like.

"Can I call you Mei then?" I asked, not being able to stop a smirk from forming. It was unintentionally flirty, making the pink-haired inventor giggle.

"Mei is fine, I'll see you later," she called out as I began walking towards the door, waving.

Even though coming this way had wasted a lot of time, I couldn't help but be happy it happened. I got to meet Mei and she was super nice, even if she was extremely hyper and pushy with her 'babies'. She was an interesting character and someone that I'd like to get to know better. Maybe we could become friends, that would be nice. She also isn't in the hero course so I don't have to worry about all that heroic bullshit. Heaving a deep sigh, I exit the support building and walk towards general studies.
