First there was darkness, nothing pure darkness, alone in a void.
Where am I. I thought to myself. W-What's going on. A bright light shone down on me. I started heading to it. Was I finally dead, I really hoped so. I was disappointed when I woke up...
I sat up quickly breathing heavy on the couch of my apartment. I looked around for anything unusual. But it was just my one room one full bath apartment. It wasn't the fanciest in the world, but it was home. I was shirtless, I was skinny and not built strongly. I was wearing my normal black sweatpants. I got up and walked to the bathroom and looked in the shattered mirror, my bright blue eye looked back at me, but my hair was over my left eye. I always had it there, the only reason was because it reminded me of mother.
I can still remember that terrible day...My 9th Birthday...
"What did I do wrong!?" I shouted to my mother as she closed in on me.
"Your eyes..." she mumbled as she walked closer to me fiddling with her knife. "There so...Perfect... I want them." she said as she gouged out my left eye. I screamed and screamed as the process when on and on. My mother was an ugly women and she wanted to be beautiful. Even her eyes resonated with an ugly feature. She took my left eye but I managed to escape before she took my right eye.
I had to grow up on the streets. Stealing and making deals for money. It wasn't until I was 11 that heard that my mother was dead do to trying to put my eye into her head. That was the best news I've heard in 2 years. I had spent 9 years on the streets before finally being able to afford my small apartment.
I brushed my hair so it wouldn't fall away from my eye, and went back to the room to find my clothes. I found my red T-shirt and black zip up hoodie and looked for my mask. I wear a mask to cover my eye in case my hair does fall aside. I looked and found it under the couch. A hockey mask with the left eye being a built in eye patch. I put it on and walked outside. It was winter, and it sucked.
It was a long walk to work. I had to work at a fight club because it's the only place that would hire me even though I don't have an education. People would always try to look the other way or stare at me because of my mask. I was working on a new one so I wouldn't look like Jason Voorhees. But until then I'm stuck with this mask.
I finally made it to the fight club. In this town this place was considered illegal, but I didn't care, I needed money. As I walked in the place was filled with noise, there was a fancy bar along with the ring. Two people were already fighting, one named "The Marauder," and the other was a newbie I didn't know the name of. I walked to get a closer view of the fight. The newbie was winning.
"If it ain't my star fighter." said someone behind me and I feel a hand on shoulder. "Your late again."
"Sorry boss." I responded, I knew by the voice it was my manager, Rocky. "I overslept."
"Well your gonna be working a little overtime alright." he declared "We got a rich guest coming." We never had rich guests and if we ever did my boss would pin up against someone strong like always.
"Of course boss." I said only because that meant more pay for me. "Imma head off to the locker room and get changed."
"Alright you got your first fight in 10 minutes." he said as he watched the two fight. "Winner of this match."
"Alright." I walked off to the locker room to get changed.
In the fights they let me wear my mask so I kept it on. As I just got on my shorts and gloves (which were just fingerless gloves) when Marauder walked in bruised up.
"Ow, shit that hurt." he said holding his shoulder. "Yo man good luck against him."
"Luck's got nothing to do with it." I said confidently. "Just skill."
"You don't understand man. That kid is not human."
"Neither am I." I said Jokingly as I left the locker room "I'll take him down for ya."
The fight was about to begin and the announcer came on.
"Are you ready for a fight." The crowd roared with excitement and he points to me and says "In this corner we have the mysterious, the powerful, and the undefeated, DREAMSCAPE!!" he screamed, I stood up and cracked my knuckles and neck as the crowd went wild.
"It is said that no one knows his true face or identity all that's known is that he has 49 wins and 0 losses." Then he gestures over to the other corner. "In this corner we have a newcomer and this is only his second match. Even though he has proven strong enough to beat The Marauder, please welcome. HELLFIRE!!" The crowd again roars with excitement. This guy was an albino. Red eyes, pasty white skin and hair, he looked pretty puny.
Hellfire? I thought. Interesting name.
The fight started and I took my normal stance which is just a basic fighting stance fists up and legs spread back and forth. However his stance was very strange, he hunched over and ways swaying his arms back and forth. I waited for him to throw a punch, I never made the first move, that would leave me open. We both started circling each other like animals. Until finally he threw a punch, I saw an opening, I ducked under his fist and hit him with an uppercut he flew back and fell over before jumping up back to his feet without using his arms.
What the hell. I thought. That barely fazed him. Maybe I should go on the offensive.
I charged him and he simply strafed to the side and dodged me. He went for the swing, I was open, he hit me right in the left side of the head. I felt my left eye socket begin to hurt, without control I swung with both hands together. I felt the blow land and he flew back he hit the stretchy part of the ring and flew forward. I saw the prime opportunity. I close lined him and as if in slow motion I hit him to the ground. He was out cold. I had won the fight, the ref raised my hand in the air and declared my the winner. The crowd roared with excitement.
I made my way back to the locker room. Marauder and Rocky where waiting for me.
