Prologue

A First Impression

Back in middle school Kazuichi didn't have many friends, well that was a lie. He had friends but none of them were truly his friends. Most of them were only pretending to be his friend for one reason or another, so when Kazuichi got bullied it was rare if anyone ever stood up for him or even did anything to stop it.

Kazuichi was getting so tired of kids bullying him and treating him like trash. He was getting so tired he began to think he might be better off with no friends at all. Then came the day that Kazuichi met his first true friend, Leon Kuwata.

The tall strong boy who was a grade above him easily lifted Kazuichi off the ground by the collar of his shirt. "Do you care to repeat yourself, or are you gonna shut up and give me your lunch money wimp" the bully said prepared to punch Kazuichi if he didn't do as he was told. Kazuichi wasn't much affected by being punched anymore, the pain no longer affected him.

"No way" Kazuichi said trying to sound tough but failing seeing as he was easily lifted off the ground. "I'll make you regret saying that" the bully said as he was about to punch Kazuichi, he closed his eyes as he knew he was going to be punched but when the impact didn't instantly hit his face he was surprised a little and opened his eyes to see what was stopping the bully.

"Why are you holding that guy in the air like a rabbit" the red head asked the bully raising an eyebrow. Kazuichi had seen this kid at school before, he was known for being disrespectful to teachers and pulling pranks on other students.

"Because he owes me lunch money" the bully responded. "Did he borrow money from you or something?" The red head asked, the bully shook his head. "Then put him down. Bullying is for people who are lame. Your not lame are you?" Leon asked the bully. The bully dropped Kazuichi on the floor and stormed away but not before mumbling something under his breath.

"You okay?" the red head asked walking closer to Kazuichi and offering a hand to help him up. "Eh? Oh yeah I'm fine. But uhm why did you help me?" Kazuichi asked confused. He shrugged "I've seen people messing with you for a while and you seemed like a nice guy so I don't think you deserve it, after seeing it today I'd gotten enough and decided to do something about it". Kazuichi was glad someone at least seemed to somewhat care about him. "The name's Leon Kuwata by the way" the red head said introducing himself. "I'm Kazuichi Soda" Kazuichi replied "also thanks for helping me out back there. I really appreciate it".

"I can help you even more if you want" Leon said putting his hands in his pockets. "I used to get bullied alot, but then I found out ways to get people to leave me alone and some even fear me" Leon explained. Kazuichi nodded desperately wanting the bullying to stop.

"Alright. Here's my first piece of advice for getting the bullying to stop, be friends with someone who is tough and feared by people too" Leon said. "So, like you?" Kazuichi said. Leon nodded "yeah like me, actually you know what. I'll be your cool tough friend". Kazuichi was happy to finally maybe have a real true friend.
