It was the early 1970's, I was in London lost somewhere in the party scene. What started as a hunt somehow turned into a vacation from myself. Drinking, dancing, sex and drugs, you could find anything here. Nothing seemed to do much for me, but everyone here was broken too.

I just emptied myself into it. Rumors spread like wildfire pretty soon, that's always how it seemed to go. This girl with a faint accent, the red hair and piercing eyes that danced gold, I was more fable than person. Most labeled me a hooker, called me a drug dealer.

I really didn't care what they said. It didn't matter, but my reputation always preceded me. Drinking men twice my size under the table, the fact no one ever overdosed with me, it made for some fun rumors.

Some called me a good luck charm after that last part spread. It wasn't like I was in some magic bubble that effected those around me.Truth was I just couldn't let anyone go. If I got to them soon enough I could usually help. Mummy always said I was useless, she wasn't totally right at least.

Even still, it was all still so empty. Party after party, one lover after the next, I was never satisfied. Until the party that changed my life that is. Until Freddie.

It was a lavish party in some big house that I some how got invited to by word of mouth. It wasn't my usual scene, but I was bored. It was already crowded when I got there, it was far more relaxed than I thought it would be.

I walked in Draped in jewels from various lovers, and a black cocktail dress. My eyes instantly darted to the man sitting on a couch with women and men all around him.

His hair, his outfit, they were all so daring and wild. He dressed how he felt. And I loved that about him. Without thinking I approached him. Ignoring everyone else around me, around him.

I sat right next to him wiggling between he and another girl. His conversation with the man across from him stopped as he looked at me.

"Well aren't you a right pushy thing?" He said smiling at me.

"Darling in this life you have to be. Claudia" I said handing him my jeweled hand.

"Freddie But you knew that." He said in an almost arrogant tone.

"I can't say that I did, now that I do though, I'm charmed." I said smiling. He just gave me a half smile as he looked me over.

"I know you, yes yes, I've heard about you. Well I'm not in the habit of paying for that sort of" I cut him off with a finger on his lips before he could continue.

"I think you have the wrong idea darling. I have no interest in money from you" I said before getting up to leave.

"If you'll excuse me then, I suppose I should be going." I said pointing to the door.

"Come with me." He said as he sat from his cozy seat and took me by the hand.

He led me past the people and the music, up the small staircase to a little space above the party. It was littered with pillows and blankets. Notebooks in a corner. A little hide away.

"You say you're not a hooker, and you have no idea who I am, so who are you really?" Freddie asked as he sat me down with him.

"I'm anything and everything darling. I've spent my life traveling, learning. Would you believe me if I told you I just had my 300th birthday not long ago?" I said smiling as I lit a cigarette. Promptly he took it from my lips laughing as he took a drag.

"You look quite good for a broad who's 300." He said laughing as he placed the cigarette back in my mouth.

"Don't I just? I think it's probably because I'm a witch." I said with a laugh.

"A witch, now that darling, that makes sense." He said smiling at me.

"And you, what's your story?" I said looking at him as he took another drag from my cigarette.

"Me? I'm just a musical prostitute darling. Selling myself for the sake of music." He said in a flamboyant ton gesturing just the same.

"So you're in a band then?" I said smiling before finishing off the cigarette.

"Queen, haven't you heard of us? We're going places. Big places. You should come tomorrow night. We're playing." He said before rummaging around.

"I just so happen to have a ticket right here." He said handing me the ticket smiling.

"Come to the show, tell me what you think." Before I could answer a blond headed man came up the steps shouting for him.

"There you Are Fred, people are looking for you" he said before realizing I was sitting with him.

"Oh I didn't realize," he said looking at me.

"You're fine love. Me and Freddie here were just saying our farewells." I said smiling getting one back as we went back down the steps.

"Oh must you be going?" He said quietly. Almost asking me to stay.

"I have other engagements. But I won't miss your show tomorrow." I said kissing his cheek.

"Don't wear all of that though. Someone will surely mug you." He said very bluntly.

"Then why don't you just take it?" I said taking off the diamond and sapphire necklace. Gently wrapping it around his neck.

"Oh I couldn't possibly." He said looking down at it smiling.

"Consider it a thank you for the ticket." I said before heading down the stairs and waltzing through the room.

I was stopped at the door by the same man who went looking for us upstairs. He gently pulled me out the door where it was quiet. Only a few people stood out here. Lost in their own conversations.

"What were you doing up there with Freddie? If it's his money you want we don't have much you know." He asked like a concerned older brother would. Not my brother. But how a normal one would.

"I'm not after his money at all love, in fact I left him with a necklace worth more than your flat I'm sure. There's just something about him." I said smiling before going to walk away.

"I look forward to seeing you play tomorrow." I said before heading to hail a cab.

This Freddie baffles me. I'm curios to see him play tomorrow. But Sloane, you know you can't get attached for to long. Never in the public eye. Not after last time. But there's just some kinda magic about him
