Alec x Reader

1st mission with the whole gang

I have been at the Institute for around a month now. Izzy and Clary are close friends and I can put up with a Jace. Alec has ignored me mostly since I beat him at the knife throwing but I keep catching him staring. At the moment I am getting ready for my first mission at the New York Institute with the whole gang.

Izzy walks in holding a black dress and some ridiculasly big heels. "I am not wearing that!" she nods "Yes you are." I scowl and take the dress of her "Fine, I will wear this tonight only." After changing into the dress I pull the heels on and stumble slightly.  I sling my bow over my shoulder next to my quiver and walk out of my room with Izzy , Jace and Clary are standing outside.

Izzy smiles and links her arm through mine "Come on, the 1st mission with the everyone." I roll my eyes and flick a knife between my fingers. We meet Alec next to the main door he smiles at Izzy and glances at me. "Let's go." I follow him and the others out of the door to a nearby club ran by the Warlock Magnus Bane.

We walk into the club missing out the queue. Inside is full of people dancing on each other and the smell of sweat and alcohol. I wrinkle my nose slightly at the smell and follow Izzy to the back of the club were we find Magnus sitting on a couch with a girl on either side of him he smiles slightly when I approach him.

"Y/N?" I scowl at him "Magnus." he frowns "What's wrong." I resist the urge to slap him and say "Maybe it's because of you leaving me to fend for myself whilst my mother went mad and telling me that I would be fine and I end up almost losing an arm." I say all of this in French so that the others don't understand what I am saying. 

Magnus looks upset for a second then says "Well you're fine aren't you?" I scowl and look at Jace and Clary who were the ones who wanted to come here. They look at Magnus and ask if they can talk to him alone. He glances at me but agrees. I roll my eyes and head over to the bar to get a drink. Not realising that Alec is following me.

I order a cocktail and sit on one of the bar stools. Alec sits next to me and orders a beer. "Are you following me?" he scowls "No, I am making sure you don't get kidnapped," I laugh and take a sip of my drink "So you know Magnus?" he asks raising an eyebrow "Ye I know Magnus." he sips his drink "How?"

"I don't really want to talk about it." I down my drink and smile at Alec "Come on let's find the others." I stand and stumble over the heels that Izzy gave me to wear. Alec steadys me and I thank him. But I trip again and almost hit the floor but Alec catches me again. I look up into his eyes and smile "I hate heels." Alec laughs "I wouldn't know." I roll my eyes standing straight Alec keeps a hand on my waist and looks straight into my eyes "You okay?" I nod "Just scared that something might go wrong." he smiles "Don't worry I'll protect you." I laugh and he removes his hand causing me to stumble and him to catch me again.

 Izzy walks over "Woah big brother." Alec puts me on my feet and slides away I wobble but manage to keep my balance "How much did she drink?" Izzy aims the question at Alec but I say "One glass, it's these damm heels." I stumble forward but don't hit the ground. Alec caught me again Izzy rolls her eyes and Alec glares at her.

Jace and Clary appear with Magnus and we head out of the door. Jace and Clary walk in front of me and Izzy in the middle and Alec behind. Suddenly Jace and Clary stop and Jace draws a seraph blade. I reach behind me and unsling my bow knocking an arrow. Izzy's whip coils on the floor.

I look around Jace's shoulder my runes distracting me from the fact that I keep wobbling in the heels. I pull back the string slightly waiting for something to happen. A large shape emerges out of the gloom and I pull back the sting fully back and aim at the shadow. A large demon appears and I shoot at it. the arrow embeds itself in its neck. 

Two more demons appear beside the middle one and Jace and Alec step towards them Izzy and clary do the same and I stand back a little with my bow raised. I shoot a few arrows then take a few knives out of my pocket. Jace and Alec kill one demon and Izzy and Clary manage to kill another. The largest one is still alive and they begin to circle it. I throw three knives two of them hit its eyes and the other hits its forehead.

I am about to throw another knife when a hand goes over my mouth. I thrash around and try to scream but I can't. The demon disapears and the last thing I rember seeing is Alec turning and looking right into my eyes and saying something I can't hear before everything goes dark.
