Eves pov:
The fire burned brightly as I ran from it, hunters chased me and my mom in their jeeps, gun fires rang through the forest. I had to find somewhere safe and fast before my mom was killed before anyone was killed...
We've been trying to run from them for years but everything we settle they fi ofnd us. All because of me...
My name is eve park and I'm a werewolf, my dad sadly passed away with our pack when hunters followed me and thankfully mom doesn't hate me because of it. He was the alpha and now I am...
At the age of 10 I changed, 6 years before all the other members of our pack. Because of this and the sheer size of my wolf, even when I was barely over 4 feet normally, was massive, caused a ruckus amongst the hunters and other wolves. Now I'm 17 and 6 feet tall, my wolf is is 8 feet from the ground to the back of her, her name is sage.
My mother was on my back while in wolf form, almost pulling my midnight black fur out. We must hurry Eve... Sages voice rang through my head, it was strong and radiated power and leadership, something mine rarely had...
I ran faster, and jumped on trees gaining speed and height before jumping to the left, losing the hunters but that didn't matter. I had to keep mom safe so I kept running and found an abandoned house, the windows were missing, doors barely hanging on the hinges, and floors creaking loudly. I laid down to let my mother off before changing into my regular self, I was covered in sweat but I didn't care, I just wanted a home.
Mom handed me my clothes and I put them on, only being in a sports bra and tight small shorts, many things in this world aren't fair but being an alpha on the run isn't worth it anymore. It never was...
I laid down on the dirty floor, feeling my back pop in multiple places before I heard my mom "Eve come eat" I'm surprised she still loves me after the trouble I've caused... Rebecca Park, the human in the pack who everyone took for granted, she carried a small knife at all times to protect herself from others in our pack but when she gave birth to the strongest wolf in the pack everything stopped. No more bullies or being shoved in the walls while going to her room.
Mom says I saved her life and that I didn't know any better then to go exploring during my first hunt. I caused my father's death and I'm guilty because of it, every night I get less then 4 hours of sleep because of it. My pack is safe but being gone for 6 years can take a toll on the pack, my best friend Jake should be taking care of it though. I know he did and still does.
I think it's time to go home though, the hunters will never expect it and it's almost night fall so it'll be perfect. "Mom, we need to go home tonight. Something came up." The lie worked perfectly, her expression changed to worriedness while mine stayed flat, she nodded before packing her stuff again and sitting down.
"When do we leave?"
"Night fall, they never place cameras and sleep during the night, plus the passed us already so we should get home in the morning." My mind was racing while I thought of multiple things that I need to do, it was weird.
As night came I changed to my wolf and let my mom get on my back before running as fast as I could to our pack, wanting to just go home and be happy for once. But I know without my mate I'll never be fully me, nobody is.
My mom fell asleep on my back while I found shelter for us miles away, don't think hunters can travel 1k miles in a day. I had to run on roads a lot and my super hearing hears cars miles away so ik when I need to get away from it. Soon I was in Springfield, Illinois and got changed before waking up my mom.
We called a taxi before driving to a hotel and renting a suite in a different name. It was fancy and had champagne with 2 rooms. It was surprising because we usually took cheap rooms, I already drank the bottle before unloading my shit and ordered a new one. Everyone knows I should get it from the hellish nights I have to live.
After a week of "touring" we will go back home and if needed I'll kill to do so, I'm tired of running and mom knows this. I'm ready to have control of my life and running from a never ending problem, I settled and as my dad said "Never Settle." He was a true alpha, one who didn't run like I did but everyone knows why I did it.
I'll grow the largest pack on the continent and show hunters who runs this world soon. I want to wipe them of existence, the moon goddess did a shitty job of creating them.
Springfield was vampire territory though. I had to cover up my smell somehow... Burning dried sage, over powering essential oils and mud worked the best but for now I only had the essential oils. I put on ginger, orange, and grapefruit before going out, the place was big and probably had at least 10k vampires. It was worrying...
We went touring and played innocent when someone approached us, asking where we're from, we chose the line of old crow in Yukon, Canada. It was simple human territory and everyone knew what was what now, they all smelled like dusty leather chairs in an attic that's been abandoned. It was creepy.
But on the last day something smelled of my favorite things; pine, good D. L. (If you know what I mean) and incense sticks. I followed the smell on instinct and was about to turn into an alley when someone grabbed me by the collar of my button up shirt "why are you here and who the fuck do you think your are coming into my territory?"
My mind was hazy as I looked into the woman's greyish red eyes, I couldn't think before I said quietly "mate..." She let go and felt the electricity between us before closing her eyes and tried to make sense of what I just said. I was confused as well but I felt worried that she would reject me.
"Tha- that can't be right, we can't be mates... How?" Her panicked voice held power but at the same time confusion.
"I don't know how, or why but if your going to reject me then do so now so I can go back to my hellish life..." I was looking down and ready to break down from the build up of emotions over many years.
"No, your mine and only mine." She hugged me before I wrapped my arms around her and cried, I heard my mom's voice trying to find me before she saw us in the alley way. She was probably confused and worried on why I was limp in this woman's arms but I didn't care...
