Constellations

The journey begins

2nd of August, the cold breeze caressed my gentle face, I said to myself, quietly
"Pucha naman oh, naiwan ko jacket ko nanlalamig na ako!"

As I entered my classroom, one of my friend shouted
"Oy! Zach! Ang ganda ng langit kagabi ah, may litrato ka ba nun?"
I replied instantly "Oo naman, ako pa! Ang ganda tignan ng mga bituin kapag ikaw ay nag iisa lamang."
My friend Winston, who is also a fanatic of stars took my camera to view the sky last night to make him feel a bit calm after having only 5 hours of sleep. I sat on my chair thinking what would happen if the constellations come to life? Would they wreak havoc in this wretched earth that we live in? Would they help us improve and have a stable relationship with the gods and goddesses? The answer is rather uncertain.

The first bell rang, indicating that it was the first period. 5 minutes have passed until our teacher came and greeted us monotonously.
I said to myself "Grabe naman to si sir Dominic, parang tinatamad nang magturo haha."

Sir Dominic heard my mumbling and he said to me
"Zachary John Roque! Anong pinagsasabi mo diyaan? Are you talking trash about me?"
I sheepishly replied " No sir, sinasabi ko lang po kung bakit monotonous yung pag greet mo sa amin haha."
I was humiliated after he said to me that I would see him after the last period ends.

Last period in the afternoon ended, I went to see Mr. Dominic in his office and surprisingly I felt a light aura as if feeling enlightened. I saw Mr. Dominic smiling, beside him was a new girl. He said
"Mr. Roque, I'm very sorry about what happened earlier haha nagulat lang talaga ako nun and also I wanted to get your attention to inform you about what you are going to do."

I asked him curiously "Ano ho ba yun sir?" My heart pounded heavily.

"I want you to take Ms. Castro a tour around the campus tomorrow, tutal ikaw yung may alam sa kasulok-sulokan ng ating paaralan eh" Mr. Dominic replied.

* My heart pounded really fast*

"Sure sir basta may plus card grade ah hahaha." I jokingly replied.
Mr. Dominic replied " Bibigyan pa kita ng card grade? Hahahaha nagpapatawa ka ba, baka magkagusto ka sa ito-tour mo ha hahahaha."

I reached out my hand and said "Hi, I'm Zach, nice to meet you, I will be your tour guide tomorrow haha"
She shook my hand and God that was the warmest and gentlest hand that I ever touched.

"Hi, I'm Celestine Iona Castro, nice to meet you" she replied timidly.
What a beautiful name

10:08 p.m.
I have been thinking about her all night and I don't know the reason why. Is it because of her calm eyes that captivated me as soon as I stared into the hazel eyes of her? Is it because of her chilling touch that sent tingles to my spine? Is it because of that smile that melted my heart?
Last thing I knew, I fell in love

August 3, 7:00 a.m.

As we were walking around the campus and helping Celestine familiarize the rooms I had this feeling na magaan at parang nasa langit ka. We passed by the campus' 'wishing' fountain and she looked at me and said
"Pahinga muna tayo diyaan, napapagod na kase akong maglakad."
I nodded. At yun naikwento ko yung story ng fountain sa kanya.

"Back in 1963 may isang lalaking naghulog ng barya dito araw-araw upang humiling na sana makita niya na ang kanyang makakasama sa pang habang buhay, and one day habang papunta siya sa fountain ay may nakita siyang babae na para bang may hinihintay. Little did he know na siya pala yung hinihintay ng babae. 'Binibini, maaari ko bang malaman kung sino ang iyong hinihintay?' 'Wala po akong hinihintay. Gusto ko lang sanang magpahinga sa fountain na ito.' They talked until the sun dropped at nagkahulugan ng mga loob ang dalawa kaya't palagi silang nagkikita sa fountain na iyon. And the rest is history"

"Ang bitin naman ng kuwento mo ah, anong nangyari pagkatapos nun?" Celestine asked.

I laughed. "Sa susunod nalang baka abutin tayo ng gabi hahahaha. Oh halika na? Shall we continue the tour?" She agreed.

I realized na ang ganda pala ng buhok niya, it was like the rays of the sun shining on me.
Nasabi ko sa sarili ko
"Fuck! I truly am in love!"

As we ended the tour I asked her "Asan ka nga na room?"

"Sa 9- Labulan" she replied

"Am I dreaming??? Shit pareho kami ng room!"
*heart beats faster than a fighter jet*

"Doon din ang room ko, what a coincidence haha" I said.
"So, shall we go?" I added.
She nodded in agreement.

10:34 p.m.
"WOOOOHHH, MAGKAROOM KAMIIIIII SHIT!" I thought to myself .
Kinikilig ako ng sobra-sobra. Bwiset parang nasa langit na talaga ako. I can almost feel the stars in my hands.

I went outside to view the stars in the night sky and thought "What if hindi na kami makakapag-usap bukas? What if hindi niya na ako papansinin?" My face saddened a bit.

As I went to my bed and closed my eyes, I couldn't believe what was happening in my life in just a short span of time.
