Hey sorry I've not uploaded in forever but after a hospital stay and a mad two weeks of night shifts etc I haven't been able to do anything productive. I actually tried to find an Internet connection in the hospital but after half an hour of mooching around with the necessary accessory (gigantic drip stand) I couldn't. And I'm not going to start on nights but I'm happily drinking my yummy wine that I got as a thank you... Anyway the story...

I found myself thrust back behind James who had his sword drawn ready to fight. I strangely didn't feel scared, I could feel the heavy pounding of my heart as anticipation and adreniline began to kick in. I watched in horror as men from their boat fell to the deck after being silently attacked by the pirates. James was tempting some men over. Luring them away from the danger before severing ropes as they were almost at our boat and watching emotionlessly as they dropped to the churning ocean far below.
He glanced at me and saw the sadness in my face before explaing in few words as possible that these men had been known to invade Coastal villages and port towns leaving no survivors from their unrelenting cannon fire. My eyes widened and I'm sure his mistook this as a sign for shock but I saw a looming shape emerge from the semi-darkness and as soon as I saw James smirk the shadow was writhing on the floor in pain from James' swift sword movement. As the mans struggles became quieter I realised that the pirates from our boat were returning. They carried barrels of rum and crates of food as well as the biggest supply of ammunition I had ever seen.
At this moment when everyone attention was diverted, James took my hand and led me below deck. Several winding flights of stairs later we arrived at a locked door. James had a key on a chain around his neck and deftly unlocked the door. Inside as my eyes adjusted to the light I saw my father. He was trembling and he broke down in great sobs as he realised I was alive. Tears slid down my cheeks as I saw him and almost immediately I was enveloped in James' muscular arms and he hauled me away before anyone realised we were missing.
Sometime later the sun was peeking out over the horizon casting a warm orange glow over the sea and a fuschia pink cast in the sky. I hadn't been to sleep. I couldn't seeing my father show so much emotion to and for me. I had never felt so alone before. Silent tears fell down my face and I hugged my knees to my chest tighter. Closing my eyes and letting my hair fall over my face I sensed footsteps approaching and a warm presence next to me on the deck. Looking coyly out from under my hair I saw James he had a pained expression on his face and he wordlessly wrapped his arms round me and rocked me gently.
I didn't react. How could I? Only a few hours ago he ruthlessly killed so many men and now he was the only person to comfort me and make me feel safe. Even safer than my father had ever made me feel.

sorry it's short but I'm uploading on my phone and the battery is going to die. Once again I'm really sorry I haven't uploaded earlier. Blame the evil doctors for keeping me in hospital so long and blame me for agreeing to night shifts.
Please let me know what you think? I'm thinking of doing a James pov as well... Maybe shake things up a little...
Anyway as always thank you for reading!
Charlie xoxo
