Being a werewolf isn't hard. It's about having control over your shift and how to deal with your temper if it starts to get too much. It isn't as much of a romance people believe in those books you find on werewolves, although some parts are true.

I have all my life been a werewolf and you don't get turned or chosen. Although in rare cases it happens. I was born into this. That also means that it is, in fact, genetic, yes. I didn't get a choice, and I wouldn't dream of choosing anything else. I love nature. I know, I know so stereotypical. But it isn't my instincts that make me love nature. It is because I love to sit in the tranquillity nature gives you and just think.

I love being at peace and around nature. The house we live in is lovely. It has 6 floors and it is shared with 6  families including ours. We are a pack. We work together and keep ourselves safe. Alpha is my dad. I know shocker... so that leads me as the oldest as next in line. I train daily to be as strong and ready to lead the pack. As a female, it usually doesn't work like this. It normally is just handed straight to my little brother but my father didn't like the idea of this. He wanted to stop the way of the hierarchy and how it works in our world. I am going to be running this pack as soon as I turn the age of 18, in only a few weeks. And when I am 18 my father and mother can finally retire and rest for a while. They will be there to support me but I know they are tried. After going through the war they went through when they lost their first born, Xander. My older brother, he was supposed to be Alpha 3 years ago. I only remember parts of him. He died when he was 16, only two years before he was going to be made Alpha. I remember things like his jet black hair and his emerald green eyes. He had a lovely jet black wolf skin with the tips of his ears white. The only other wolf beside myself to have that kind of feature. The different coloured tips of the ears.

The 6 floors are divided, our family has the top floor and the other families also have a floor each. Plus we have the basement which goes down two floors. One family live down there and then there is the gym. So the bottom floor is the living area when we group together and do meals or we hang out.

This pack although seeming small how I have just described it isn't. Most of the pack live away from the pack house. They live just outside the borders where there are primary and secondary schools. We all have to attend mandatory order from my dad. The only issue is that we have to go to schools with Vampires. Yes, we don't get along as species but we do have some similarities, therefore, leaving half of the wolf kind becoming friends with them and making a life with them. My father, he hates this. He hates that I have to share a school with these creatures and he doesn't want me to ever associate with any. I never knew why. I still don't but I am hoping he will tell me when I am Alpha. You are probably thinking surely the vampires can't walk in sunlight. That my friend is just a myth.

"Soph!" I hear my fathers deep voice boom from the direction of the house. Oops, it's getting dark and I was totally supposed to be back an hour ago. I quickly get up and shift into Alexia my wolf. She has lovely white fur with black tipped ears. She is beautiful.

Why thank you!

I smile at the thought while I let her run us back to the base. Once we get there my dad throws me some clothes to put on when I shift back. I just thank him by nodding my head slightly.

I shift and change into the blue joggers he gave me and the grey coloured jumper he gave me. I smile knowing exactly whose it is. It's my older brothers old clothes. I start to feel so down, not knowing how to feel what to think or say.

"I know, I feel the same but as a leader, you cannot let your feelings take over." He states. "Your late and your mother is worried sick. I almost had a fight on my hands' young lady." He lets his Alpha voice seep through. I look down.
