Chapter One: The beginning and the note

Jacklyn POV

I wake up and walk out of my bedroom, only to see Soda yelling about not being able to find his shirt, Pony getting yelled at for not getting out of bed, and Two- bit watching Mickey Mouse. I know what you're thinking, "What the hell is going on?" It's a normal day in the Curtis house. The door opens and Steve walks in and sits down next to Two- bit on the couch. I go over to Darry and put my hand on his shoulder while he's making breakfast, "Morning, Superman." He rolled his eyes, "Dont call me that, Jacklyn Marie." I laughed and stole a peice of bacon off of the plate he had it sitting on. He glared at me, "Go get dressed and stop stealing food." "But annoying you is so much more fun than getting ready for school." Dallas walked in the house and came into the kitchen and grabbed a peice of bacon before sitting on the counter grumbling tiredly, "Morning." I rolled my eyes, "Really Darry? I take a peice of bacon and get glared at while being told to get ready for school, but when he takes some, it's like nothing happened." He ignored me. I went to my room and shut the door, "Damn Superman." I grab my boots, jeans, a blue tank top and my leather jacket and change into them. Once I was done, I brushed my hair and left my room and went into the kitchen. I go to the living room and sit between two- bit and Steve on the couch. Two- bit looks over to me with a smile, "You look good today Jackie." I roll my eyes as he wraps an arm around my shoulder, "Thanks." Dallas walks into the living room and sits down in the chair. He glances over towards us but doesnt say anything. After a few minutes, breakfast was ready and we all ate. After breakfast, I said bye to everyone and walked out on my way to school. When I got to school, I went inside and immediately went to my first class of the day.
Time skip to after school
Once school was over, I left the building and started walking home. When I got home, I walked in and saw Dallas asleep on the couch with a note in his hands. I walked up to him and grabbed it. He stirred but didnt wake up. It was a note from Darry:

"Jacklyn and Dallas,

Me, pony, and soda are gone for the day and will be back mid day tomorrow. Dallas, watch her and don't let her do anything stupid. Jacklyn, you cook and listen to Dallas. He will be staying there until we get back.

-Darry"

I rolled my eyes, "Damn Superman. I have to cook for this idiot AND do what he tells me to? This is gonna be absolute hell."
