Chapter 1

Dan was working on hiding his bruises and cuts when his dad Ben came in to the bathroom yelling "I told you to get food not to do your Make up" "Yes sir" I say with fear in my eyes "SLAP" Ben hit Dan "I said get food you worthless piece of shit" Dan ran out the door and in to the street for everyone to stop dead in their tracks and whisper to one another "I heard that his mother committed suicide because of him " said a woman " yea I heard the same thing" said another women. Dan Finley got to the store and went to the freezer aisle and grabbed prepared country fried steak then he started to head to the self checkout when he walked around the corner of the aisle he about kissed a guy he knew in school named Jack but didn't know much about him. Dan looked into Jack's eyes and found him self staring in to his light blue eyes until Jack said his name and he quickly snapped out of it "sorry" said Dan as the backed away then Jack said "Hey Dan, do you want to hang out some time after school" Dan grinned happily because this is the first time any one asked that. No one asked that question before because his mother was suicidal. "yea" said Dan. He walked to the check out smiling then went home. He walked in to the house the first thing he sees is his father waiting at the door he looks down waiting for what was coming "slap" Ben hit Dan "What took you so long?" Ben Yelled at Dan "nothing" said Dan as he went to make dinner they finished and went to bed. The next morning he got up for school happy to get away from his father and to see Jack. School Finally let's out and Jack approached Dan "hey are we going to my house" asked Jack "yea" said Dan "we'll take my car" said jack "Good cuss I don't have a car I walk to school every day." Said Dan they get to jack house "Hi mom this is my friend Dan" said jack "Hi Dan it's nice to meet you and call me Ashley" said Ashley with happiness that her son finally brought a boy home "So when is your first date" said Ashley Dan and jack slightly blush and look away from each other "mom!" said jack as Dan walks over to a wall and curl up in to a ball and haves panic attack about his dad being mad at him for having a crush on Jack. "Dan are you ok" said jack "he is having a panic attack" said Ashley as she practically run to him and try to calm him down he finely calms down but he is crying and destroying his Make up covering his bruises "go get me some wet wipes jack" said Ashley Jack finely comes back with the wet wipes. Dan flinched when the wet wipes is pushed on his bruised face they grasped when they saw his face covered in bruises "What happened to you Dan" they say in unison " my dad was drunk and he threatened my mom by saying you kill your self or Dan dies he had a gun to my head she stabbed her self in the heart the next day my dad had sobered up and called the police they say it was a suicide they asked me question and I told them the story they didn't believe me because I was a kid and every day my dad hits and wipes me saying I should of died with her and my dad gets mad at me for talking to any one because he said I don't deserve love or friend's and if they are a male he says I'm not raising a fag and the beatings are worse" said Dan "pull up your shirt because you said he wiped you" said Ashley "can I get some help because it Hurts to take off my shirt" said Dan "Yea jack will help you" said Ashley. Jack walks over Dan and help take of the shirt Ashley gets out her cellphone "hello this is 911 what is you emergency" said the woman on the other side of the phone "hello I like to report child abuse he is with me at 25 icy rode" said Ashley a few minute later the police came to the house and Dan tells the police what happens at home for the last 3 years. after hours of answering questions they leave saying they will get back to us and that Dan will be stay with Ashley Intel they find a better place.
