This day was just like any other day; I was working a mid day shift at my retail job
And was planning a visit to my dad's house afterwards. I take my phone out of the drawer located by the register to find a text from my cousin, Justin, asking if I could possibly watch the house for a few hours when everyone was gone. Since I was planning an over night visit anyways I agreed to it, no problem. After work I went home, grabbed some clothes and other essentials, then I was on my way.
When I got there I was greeted by everyone with their cheerful hellos and big smiles. They are all so happy to see me, but we're also trying to head out the door as soon as possible. There were a total of five people living at the house; my grandma, my dad, uncle, and two cousins, Justin and A.J. For the most part there were at least two of them home at all times. Today was one of those rare occasions where everyone either had work, a doctor's appointment, or going out just for the hell of it.
My grandma repeatedly thanked me for watching the house and asked if I really was going to be okay alone.
Yes grandma, I'll be just fine! I'm just going to sit on my butt all night and watch t.v. After the day I had I'd rather do that than anything else." I reassured her and made she had everything for her doctor's appointment and her wild thrift shop excursions she was going on with my aunt afterwards.
"Okay just please make sure everything is locked and I mean everything!"
"Yes grandma, loud and clear!"
She handed me $20 insisting that I buy myself dinner with it. I didn't attempt to give it back knowing she would tell me to keep it or she'll kick my ass. I never want to take money from her, but when she insists, she won't take no for an answer.
"Don't party too hard when I'm gone, ya hear?" My uncle laughed.
"Save some pot for me!" A.J. Yelled from the kitchen. Everyone, including my grandma, roared in laughter.
"Oh yeah and those ghosts have been acting up again, tell them to cool it down!" My dad added.
"No, they're demons, remember?" Justin corrected him.
"Oh yeah, that's right!"
"Won't you two knock it off?" My grandma yelled, in fears I was going to be too scared to stay after all.
I always knew their house was haunted; I've heard the stories hundreds of times. Stories including how their home used to be a doctor's office years ago and how they've had experiences like seeing a little boy that wasn't really there and hair brushes flying off the counter. I've never really had my own experiences so I was never scared, even about being alone.
"Well if you get too scared, call your dad or uncle and they will both come home in no time." They both nodded in agreement.
After everyone left, I ordered myself some dinner and watched the usual crime shows my grandma watched 24/7: Law and Order, Wives with Knives, Murder She Wrote, you name it. It was still pretty light out and everything was calm. I was ready to doze off when all of a sudden I heard a strange noise off in the distance
THUMP DRAAAAAAAG

The sudden noise woke me up instantly. I played it off as one of the neighbors working on their yard. Someone is always working on something in this neighborhood so it didn't worry me at all. I turned up the volume to drown out the sound, just in case I decided to fall asleep.
30 minutes passed....
