Lying face down in my bed, every time I would close my eyes, I would see his face. Those damn pain ridden blue eyes, its their fault I didn't sleep good last night. Rolling over, I sat up. It didn't help that he and his family was here today either.

Staring at the window, the sun shined through the curtains. Peeping out, I saw them hanging in the backyard. Running my hand through my black hair, I turned picking my phone up.

Walking out my room, I went down stairs into the living room. Sitting down, I heard someone come inside. Turning my head, there was Mrs. Carter. Her red hair was pulled in a bun and she had a light green dress on. Connecting with her blue eyes, she smiled moving toward me.

"Ellie, how are you?"

Sitting down beside me, she gave me a side hug.

"I'm fine."

Pulling away I looked down, and she took my hands.

"Let me take a look at you."

Turning towards her, she looked me up and down and smiled.

"Beautiful just like your mother, no wonder Daniel couldn't wait to see you."

My eyes widen as I stared her confused.

"What do you mean?"

"Well you see, when found out we were moving back. He was so excited, saying he wondered how you were. I hope you two can be friends like you were when y'all were younger."

Thinking for a moment, I gave her a short nod, but then looked down. I can't keep that promise now, because he probably hate my guts now.

" Well actually I don't think that can happen."

"Really, how come?"

Staring down again, I bit my lower lip.

"I said something mean and I think he might hate me now."

She lifted my head and I stared at her. She gave me a understanding smile.

" I'm sure if you apologize, he will forgive you."

"You think?"

She nodded her head and gave me a smile. Standing up, she then moved to leave the room, but stopped.

"Anyways I think he couldn't bear if you hated him."

She gave me a wink before leaving and I sat there confused.

Making it back to my room, I sat on my bed taking a breather. Picking my cellphone up, I dialed Andrea's number. It rung three times before she answered.

"Hey."

"Hey."

I said before letting out a sigh.

" Ok what's wrong?"

"Well you see, last night I kind of got into it with Daniel."

" Mhm and what happened?"

"I told him what was on my chest..."

"And?"

"I told him I used to hate him, and he looked so..."

"Pissed, angry, mad?"

"No, more like hurt."

She was quiet for a while, before letting out a sigh.

"You know Ellie, I don't think Daniel will be a problem. "

"What?"

"Hold on, just listen Ok. Yes he was mean when you were little, but I don't think you're not seeing it right. Maybe he was mean because he liked you. Ever think of that, you know guys always pick on the ones they like."

Staring blankly at the wall, no it couldn't be that, it just couldn't.

"Or... maybe he was a jerk and he just changed. He may have learned from his ways and really is different."

"Maybe."

We were quiet again, and I glanced at the window.

"Ellie?"

"Huh?"

"What's really bothering you, does it matter if he changed or not. If you don't like him, then you can just stay away."

I'm just so confused now, I want to understand him, I think. Biting my lower lip, I closed my eyes for a moment.

" You see he was nice, like really nice last night, and I... I just don't know... mean to him. I feel bad for saying what I did."

"So you feel guilty?"

"... yes."

"Well first apologize if it makes you feel better. You never know maybe he really has changed for the better."

"Ok."

Hanging up my phone, I stood up walking to my window. There in the backyard Mrs. Carter and dad were talking and Daniel was leaning against a tree.

Maybe he has changed, and I sighed. He did say he was sorry last night, I guess I'll take the next step and apologize too.
